Dad wants me to smoke weed with him

This is a note I received from a young 16 year old young man the othe night.
Dear Mr. Gaffney:
Thank you for praying for me. I really like coming to the meetings. I have never felt so much of God before. Can I ask you to please pray for my dad. He said church is for sisseys. I am 16 years old and I really like coming to the meetings. But my mom and dad don't want me to. They said to much church is not good for you. When I was asking to go last night my dad said I had to smoke a joint with him. When I said I did not want to do that anymore he said it would make me more like a man. I don't want my parents to get mad at me but I don't feel good about it. What can I do to keep this feeling I have when in church. I get so mad when I go home because they just don't seem to understand. Thank You Mark R. PS: You called me son the other nite, can I move in with you?

My heart is going out to you. Please believe me when I say we will pray for your mom and dad. They just do not understand the Lord the way you do. The word of God says to "Honour your mother and father" that does not mean they can make you break the law. The greatest honour you could give them is help lead them to the Lord.
2TI 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must strive, but be gentle unto all, apt to teach, patient. 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose theselves, if God preadventure will give them repentance to the acknowledgeing of the truth. 2:26 And they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil. who are taken captive by him at his will.
Right now you God's secret agent man to help your parents see Jesus. Be patiente and pray every day for them and you will see them find the truth.

Dear Mark,
I don't even know for sure if you will ever find or read this, but just because you don't know I'm praying for you, I know God will still hear my cries. For some reason, the Lord has stirred my heart, and every prayer request, as if for my own family, has become personal. I'm sick and tired of these things, that tear us down, just so satan can make us feel like we lost. I'm going to do this differently, but still, I will pray. My advice to you is this: Your heart is honest, and humble. You can even admit your faults before the body of Christ, so I want to share something with you. When you ask for forgiveness, the bible tells us that they are thrown into the sea (cast into the deep) and the Lord God Almighty remembers them NO MORE. What does that have to do with anything? Effictiveness in prayer. My brother, there is a real enemy out there, and he lies to us, and he is the reason your father said what he did. Your dad loves you, more than you know, and more than he shows, so I first ask you to forgive him, that you may be able to open the eyes of your heart to the real love that the Lord is shewing His people. Realize that it IS NOT him (your father) saying this, but its the lies of the enemy blinding him to seeing the love you need to know is there! The second thing that you need to do is ask the Lord for forgiveness.... Why? When you do, meditate (or think about in depth) on the fact that your sins that were forgiven are NO MORE. For example, maybe you have smoke weed to appease your dad, but when you ask for forgiveness of your known sins, and your secret sins too, they BECOME NO MORE. Just like you have never done them. I am really serious, that my brother, ishow much the Lord loves you, that He would forget your sins, and never look upon them again! Why is that important? The enemy, Who I call by name, will try to throw this in your face.... "Ah, you're not good enough to pray." "Your God won't hear your prayers, you did this, that or the other." THings like this, he will try to lie to you and make you think that God is holding a gruge. When you have been forgive of your sins, and you know it, then PRAY. Your humble and open heart will know exactly what to ask of the Father in Heaven. Then, watch as miracles happen, but never listen to the enemy! Pray as often as you can/or will. Then, one day, you will find that you have the strength to tell your dad, "Dad, Let's talk, or just hang-out." And you will realize you can share your feelings with him, that you don't need these things to talk, or even to live. Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, and love everyone around you more than yourself.
Dear Father,
I ask your with a humble heart to bless him, as my own brother, I pray. I forbid satan to lie to him, I deny that permission. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray a hedge of protection around him so thick, he can't find his way out! O Lord, that you would bless him beyond his wildest dreams. Reach down and touch his whole family, through him, and guide him to be the leader you want him to be. This I ask in Jesus Name, Amen

HE IS GOING THROUGH HELL.
HE WANTS TO SERVE GOD BUT HIS DAD WANTS HIM TO SMOKE WEED.

Dear Lord, please encourage Mark. Hold him in Your arms and be his
Dad, like You have done for me so many times. Give him the strength
to do what is right, no matter how difficult it is. Remove the blind-
ness from his father's mind that he may see his need for You. Show
Mark's entire family the fulfillment there is in You alone. Send Your
Holy Spirit to convict of sin and surround them by angels. Call them out
of darkness into Your marvelous light. Just please, please, please let
Mark experience You as his daddy!!!!!!! In Jesus Name, Amen.

All of this time, he has found himself feeling alone, and trying to find sence and reason behind the things he does. He hasn't had anyone tell him directly, well, not as directly as I am going to tell him, but he has no choice but to know that Jesus loves him. He has thought it, felt it, and probably heard it from someone before, but never will it be this personal. Then why do I feel like I am in hell? Its a common question for him to wonder. Jesus sees the situation you are in, and is waiting to guide you out. I know, it would be nice to have a friend throw in that hand to pull you out, but you have to find the strength within yourself. You know what is right, and what is wrong. I am telling you right now, you must act on what you know. You must fight the things you know are wrong, and deny they. Call upon the strength of the Lord to do this. You must also give room for the things that are right to grow. You are in my prayers, because I know there seems like there is no way out, please believe I understand that. If i didn't, I wouldn't be sitting here typing this to you. There is a way out, but I can't show you. You have to find Who can, and if not, How to get out on your own. I know, its not what you wanted to hear, but give the situation time, and don't let bad keep going on. Make good, safe decisions. I pray for you my brother... - Anthony

Mark, Please know that you are never alone when you walk with the Lord, you have a friend with you 24-7, and alls you need to do is say his name. He will give you peace and joy, and never ask you do anything that you are not capeable of doing. In everthing you do, or are about to do, ask yourself this question-- What would Jesus do? Father in heaven,
We bind our faith together and stand in the gap for Mark. Jesus send a band of angelic hosts to gaurd and protect him. Set up a hedge of protection round about his life and his family. Father I pray that you will give Marks parents, especially his father, a supernatural revelation of who you are and of who Mark is through you. Father continue to raise up a standard against the enemy on Marks behalf. Father there is no demon or devil from hell that can have this young mans life. Lord I pray that you will complete this work that you have started in Mark. In Jesus name...AMEN!!!
Mark, I encourage you to do what the WORD of God says to do and simply stand. You have done all that you can do physically, and emotionally, so just stand there with your armor on and watch the Lord work it all out. The Lord for us is better than anything, or anyone supporting you. Just remember that when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord will simply float you to the next level of to a greater depth in His Spirit. Though you walk through the waters you will not be drowned. Keep the faith and keep fighting the fight towards that prize.

Mark, God loves you so immensely and HE will help you to have a better life. I'm sorry you're going through this with your parents, but remember you have had the love of Jesus revealed to you and they don't know Him yet. God says He will save you and your household when you believe. Mark, you absolutely do not have to feel bad about honoring the Lord by not doing something bad like smoking pot. I pray God strengthens your faith and continues to give you courage to stand for what is right. Mark, honor your parents by doing the things with a smile that theyask you to do that ARE NOT illegal, like mowing the lawn , taking trash out, etc...and they will see the love in you. Even when they don't ask you could "go the extra mile" and help out so it ca be a witness of God working in your life. Jesus loves your parents, maybe not what they are doing (He hates that) but He loves them. Just keep your eyes on the prize (Jesus) : ) God be with and bless you abundantly Mark.....someday YOU may be the one leading youth to Jesus--whatever it is ==God has a plan for your life. God BLess
