Hi All ~ I am attending a laying on of hands service this coming Friday and want to know how I should prepare myself - (praying/fasting?) I need lots of blessings. I will be bringing my 11 and 9 year olds as well as the pastor said they are welcome. Has anyone ever had this experience and want to share? Thanks!

We call it ministry in our church and it happens at the end of every service. The Lord will reveal to the prophets and the vicar / pastor a word of knowledge e.g. Those who are suffering from stress, or someone with a bad arm etc.
Then the congregation move forward, those who want prayer. Then the rest of the congregation goes to get a cup of tea and biscuits from the back of church and catch up on the weeks activities. At the front those who want ministry, laying on of hands, stand still usually with their hands out in front of them. If you are a woman a female member of the ministry team will minister to you, male for a male and a couple for a couple. The person ministering will place a hand gently on your shoulder and pray quietly beside you. Jesus does the rest. When it is over usually 5 to 10 minutes sometimes longer, the person will give you a picture or word from the Lord if they got one.
Through this we have had many healings. Jesus has really touched people and allowed them to get much closer to him. Our church has expanded and is now one of the biggest in the country.
I love receiving ministry and the first year I received it I cried like a baby, because the lord knew what I had been through and started to heal the hurt deep inside me. My daughter received her healing form deafness in one ear in this way.
I have never fasted in order to recieve this ministry, but if you feel led to do so there would be no harm in it. It is an uplifting experience. I hope you and your family have a good experience that it is all appropriate. I pray that the Lord will touch you and your family in a powerful way.
