Private Message Boxes

Why do I have two separate private message boxes? One is in the Main Page 'Your Account' private message and the other is on the prayer board where it says "Welcome, akabezalel. You last visited: Yesterday at 04:54 AM
Private Messages: Unread 0, Total 1." and no they do not talk to each other. If I send or receive a message on one, I never see any sign of it on the other or any replies.
Also, the notification zero's after my name never register anything for either box.
I am assuming that this is a juggling problem between sites, but I thought I would mention it.

We started with the home page system
It had it's own private message system
It is not as robust as the one on the prayer board but it was the first one we had.
When we installed the prayer board it had a seperate private message system. I like it better.
We just could not get ourselves to delete the first one.
They do not talk to each other because they are totally two seperate programs.
