Jerry, It was sure good to see you ministering last night at New Life Assembly of God. I ask that my brothers and sisters in the Lord please continue to hold you up in prayer and to pray that your strength be renewed day by day.
We had Cheryl and I with eight kids attending last night. We came in around 6:30 PM and found the parking lot completely full. We had to sit in the overflow section at first before they were able to fit us into the left side of the sanctuary.
You mentioned what an experience that you had when your truck blew up crossing a mountain.
Your son asked you what you were going to do and you said "we're going to praise the Lord!"
Praise the Lord for what He is going to do! For a better truck is coming. The devil should not have done that, now he's going to pay for a new one! A much better one came shortly there after.
Our kids listened intently last night. Lessons many times are better learned in life experieces.
On our way to the church on Oregon street there was a section of road under construction.
The road had a seam in it from one section to the other that I did not see and caused our verry full van to touch ground on the transmission oil pan causing it to produce a hole (we didn't know about the hole until the next day). You put two adults and five kids in a mini van and you have quite a load.
As we drove home I heard the transmission slip in our Nissan Quest mini van. It did it again and I knew that something was up. Moments later I was "red-lining" and found that I had no power to the wheels. I said to them all that we had a problem. We coasted up the nearest off-ramp close to the top of a hill and came to a stop. I then asked the kids what they think we should do? We all said "we're going to Praise The LORD!" So we prayed and praised just like you did Jerry. We praised the Lord through our circumstance. We decided to push the car another 100 feet up the hill to the crest and then allow it to coast down to the nearest gas station. A large truck followed closely behind with hazards flashing to ensure our safety. Then at the bottom of the hill we still had 1/8 mile to go when 30 seconds later a state trooper offered to push us the rest of the way to the service station with his patrol car. We called the parents of the kids we had to let them know we would be a "little late" getting home and one of the kids parents said that they would bring two cars to provide rides home. As we dropped off our car which was towed, Vasiliy Ovcharenko gave us his car to use as long as we needed it, till ours was fixed. He also asked if we had the necessary money to repair our car and we said that we did not yet know where it was coming from but God would provide. He said that he would loan us the money and pay him back when we were able.
What a lesson for our kids to see before their eyes what it is to walk by faith and to trust the Lord in every circumstance. This lesson is not yet over for the we and our kids need to see the Lord to show Himself strong regarding repayment of the loan for the repair. We know that our God shall supply all of our needs according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus...
We know that God has told us that He will give us a bus in the past so we are calling it in in the Name of Jesus. We need somthing that can handle the volume of kids that we desire to bring to church with us. They are hungry, God wants to feed them, and we want to bring them to the table to come and dine. To tase and see that the Lord is good. We have taken up to seventeen kids at a service at one time, most of the time it is eight to ten kids.
My dear brothers and sisters, please prayerfully consider if God is moving on your heart to provide for this need of either the bus or for the money for the repair of our car. Maybe you know someone out there that has just what we need for transportion and you can refer us to them. Thank you all for your prayers, please continue to lift myself, Cheryl, and our kids before the Lord.
Our God is an awesome God!
Blessings to you, Robert & Cheryl Cyders...
Update on the car repair.
I have my car back today and I do not believe that the transmission is working properly after a minor repair. The tach is running a little too high, and the engine sounds a little labored. Please agree with me that what ever needs to be done we can do soon and also get the funds to complete the work...
Be blessed, Robert Cyders...
