Do you also feel frustrated and empty inside ?
Are you scared for no reason ?
How come that I'm not happy all day long and rejoice in the Lord ?

It is not God's job to stir up your soul to worship Him and be Joyous! That is YOUR job.

2 Titus 1:6 + 7

6 ¶ Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear ; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Happiness is not something that puts a goofy smile on your face all day. Happiness is the security of knowing God is with you no matter what you are going through.

And in verse 7 you will notice that God did not give you the spirit of fear so you know who did and you can come against him with your faith and authority in Jesus.

You have to stir up the ashes that are covering the embers of your joy and start them burning again, then God can come down and ignite them with His anointing, but, you have to start worshiping and praising and being joyful and standing on your faith, that is your job. It is not God's job to spoon feed us all the time.

Our Faith is not a lazy faith, you have to work at it, I have to work at it, Jerry has to work at it, no one can just sit on their duffs and expect God to make them happy. He makes happiness available but we have to go get it by stirring ourselves up and praising when we feel like crawling in a hole and dying, by worshiping when we feel so frustrated that we could chew someone up and spit them out, by being joyous even when we are scared out of our wits by the circumstances we find ourselves in.

If you cannot find something in your life to praise & worship God over then open up the Bible and start speaking out the Psalms (Ps. 91 especially) or Proverbs or the Gospels or Epistles. The Book of John is a Love story, read it out loud and listen to your voice, listen to how much God LOVES you and find something in His LOVE for you to praise & worship Him for. The Bible is the biggest, longest running and most published LOVE story of ALL TIME...Revel in it and stir yourself up to PRAISE HIM.

Then Fredrik, you will know true happiness and security. It doesn't always happen overnight, the first few times you do it may feel like stupidity to you, but trust God, it will happen.

Psalms 91

1 ¶ He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness;nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 ¶ Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and Honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Sorry but even if paradise is waiting for me then I cannot really rejoice because of this now. I only know the problems of my life. Life is now, paradise comes later. I don't see God doing anything in my life. Maybe I'm too blind to see it I don't know.

Yes, I know that feeling all too well Fred. But you and I need to be lead by the Spirit. Not by feelings. Sometimes we just need to tell the flesh to shut up and quit whining and to speak faith. Any fool can say what's going on in the circumstances and repeat what's happening. But it takes a man or woman of God to call things that are not as though they are. This encouraged me today, check it out - http://www.womanofthelasthour.com/w...destination.htm

Dear Father fill me with your Holy Spirit to over flowing. I want to do your will. I want to follow you and to serve you all the days of my life. Give me patience and diligence to walk in all your ways. Fill this hunger and thirst I have for you. Empower me to walk the walk. Give me eyes to see and ears to hear. Help me to humble myself and submit to you now matter what my feelings say. Lord I need you. Take my life, my heart and soul. I ask for your fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit to manifest in my life. I want a close, deep walk with you. Help me to know you are here with me. Let me know you are with me. Help me to minister to those around me. Help me to talk to my friends and family about you. Fill me with your power and love. In Jesus name, amen.

Amen Cgirl, I have been praying almost that same exact prayer lately and especially on the long drive home tonight. I actually prayed it many times during that drive and I do feel much stronger.

Yes Frederik, I too get those feelings sometimes, but it is Satan trying to make sure I am so down and out that I can not do God's will. I think of it as Satan putting water in my gas tank, just like in a car, it may still run but you won't get anywere very fast. Until you drain it out and put in new gas, you are just sputtering around. Once you get the water out though look out, put the pedal down and hang on because it is a wild ride until he puts more water in there

You know every christian says something different, this is also something which bothers me.
For example some say that we need to be refilled with the holy spirit again and again but this isn't biblical at all.
Jesus said that if you drink from his water you will never be thirsty again.

Once you become a Christian, accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, God comes and lives in you in the form of the Holy Spirit, this is the living water. How much control of your life you give Him is another question. We are told not to quench the Holy Spirit, but that is exactly what Satan is trying to get us to do with these feelings of frustration and emptiness. Satan can't quench the Holy Spirit but he works on us to get us to do it to ourselves. Faith is our weapon against such attacks. Even when we are feeling totally down and out, being beaten down by Satan, God is there saying " Let Me help you". God wants us to only ask Him and allow Him to lift us up. Problem is we humans have a strong stubborn will sometimes and want to do things ourselves, that is where we get into trouble, we have to be able to relinquish control of our lives of every little part of them to God. The more control we give up the more He can work in our lives to bring about His will for us.

You are not alone in this feeling though, even King David had times when he cried out asking God where He was. If you read through Psalms you will see there were many times he did this, but you will also notice that afterwards he was offering a song of praise for the great things God did in his life after he turned control over to Him. Count yourself blessed because Satan is working so hard against you Frederik, that just means that God has something big planned for your life, maybe not next week or even next year, but He has plans and the devil is trying his best to see you don't make it. Set your mind on the fact that you ARE going to overcome Satan and when this battle is over you will be in the center of God's will for your life and you will have the joy that comes from obeying Him and from seeing Satan defeated in your life.

So you speak in tongues then?
The Word also says abide in me and I in you. That doesn't mean pray once and afterward you don't have to do it anymore. I wish it were that easy too.

No, I cannot speak in tongues.

Dear Lord God, fill Frederik today! Loosen his tongue and fill him with your power. Father God, give him dreams and visions. Let him wake up speaking in that heavenly language. Baptize him in his sleep if you have to, like you did to me. I rebuke these doubts and unbelief and command you to go in Jesus name. Father God, give him peace and joy as he submits to you in prayer! Give him encouragement that only Holy Ghost can give him. Give him strength in his inner man. Give him strength to follow after you Lord. Quiet his spirit, calm him and the storm around him. Make a way where there is no way. Lord grant him the desires of his heart, for his desire is You. Lord he is hungry and thristy for you, fill him to overflowing as he cries out to you now Lord. We ask that you move quickly upon him as we have been praying these many months for him. We believe and trust in you our Lord Jesus, we love you with all our heart even though we do not understand or can't see you. We love you and give you praise and glory for there is no other God like you Jesus. In Jesus name!

Remember, consistancy brings the intensity man.

I tell you it is not easy....most of my life I was taught "by the church" that you cannot be depressed, that you are to be joyful 24-7....if you are not then there is something wrong with you....

Here is a passage that a very dear friend and Brother in the Lord posted for me when I was battling with what you are:

Some quotes from a book called, "The Fire of Delayed Answers" by Bob Sorge.

"Sometimes the greatest adversity comes to those God loves most. One of the tests that many of the greatest saints have shared is to suffer a negative reputation -- to have others who love and serve God decide that you're suffering because God's displeasure is upon you. Jeremiah knew the sting of this reproach, as did our Lord Jesus. We must be very careful that we not find ourselves coming against someone who is silently favored of the Lord. . . ."

and

"Like Job, when calamity hit my life, I found myself with my own set of theological struggles and questions. Here are some of the issues that I have personally had to work through in recent years:

I used to believe that God didn't use physical infirmity to bring His saints to greater maturity. Then, when infirmity hit my own life, I had to wrestle through to a new understanding of God's ways.

I used to think that God intended that we always have joy (as per Romans 14:17). I preached and practied that, as I was quite stable in the joy of the Lord. And then I took a knockout punch. Suddenly I found myself with absolutely no joy. Somebody might say, "Bob, you still had joy. You just didn't understand that joy goes much deeper than feelings." No, I'm telling you, I had no joy. All I had was depression. I hadn't done anything to bring the depression on, and I counldn't do anything to get out of it. I had no kingdom joy, and yet I knew I was still in the kingdom. This forced me to wrestle with God and to adjust my "joy theology." Now I can see that a pruned vine doesn't feel joy. I had a happy childhood, but when I got spanked I was not a happy child. You may have a joyful walk in Christ, but when He prunes and disciplines, you have no joy for the moment because of the pain. But joy follows weeping just as surely as morning follows night. (See Psalm 30:5) . . . "

and

"Everything changes for Job with chapter 38. Finally, God speaks. For this Job has been panting. He's been crying, "Lord, I don't care if you rebuke me or if you correct me -- just talk to me! Be no longer silent to me!" God reveals Himself to Job "out of the whirlwind," and what a glorious visitation this is! The long delay is finally worth it. By coming in a whirlwind, God is dramatically reinforcing His message with a natural sign."

and

"When we're in the crucible, God doesn't expect all of our responses to be perfect. The purpose of the crucible, after all, is to bring imperfections to the surface. God is big enough to handle our fears, frustrations, yearnings, anxieties, depression, anger, and self-pity. But God's final verdict on Job is that he was a loyal and righteous servant. God's pleasure is very evident in this man who had kept his face toward God through the greatest trial of his life."

I know it is hard in the flesh, but I believe that we are to allow our fles to be crucified and let Jesus live thru us! I don't know the Scripture, but I know it says in the Word that He could bear all things because He focused on His eternal joy to come.

I believe Frederik, that if You continue to ask the Holy Spirit to enable you to count your blessings, and to develop in you a grateful heart, HE WILL DO IT!!

We cannot do it in our own strength, but He can do it in us!! We need only be obedient and surrender our thought life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and let Him do the rest.

Bless You Frederik,
I will pray too for the Spirit to fill you with contentment and peace and joy and with eyes to see that which is not as tho it were!!

Forever His,
Sharon
