drunk driving court case
Hello people, over the weekend I crossed the border from Botswana (my home country) to South Africa just for fun. We engaged in heavy drinking for more than six hours. I was later arrested at midnight for drunk driving, my friends bailed me out and on monday I appeared in court for the first time. The case was postponed to 24th June 2010. I've been asking around and people say chance's are i may get a heavy fine, a prison sentence or both.
I know in my heart that The Lord is the only one who can save me, so ask you to be in prayer with me. May God bless you all.

The Lord can save you...but will He? Getting drunk is against the commands of scripture. We are to be filled with the Holy Spirit (WAY BETTER than being drunk!) not drunk on alcohol! You disobeyed God and you broke the law of the land. So, be honest, do you really think you should get a light sentence? Drunk driving endangers lives -- including your own. You should pay the penalty. When someone is drunk and driving a car that car becomes a lethal weapon...and many have died as a result.
And when you say only the Lord can save you, are you speaking from having a personal relatioship with Him? Is he truly your Savior? Even if at one point you prayed a prayer to begin a relationship with Him, He is clearly not your Lord. For if He was Lord of your life, he would be in control (self-control is a fruit of His Spirit), and you would not be getting drunk. So, in asking the Lord to save you, are you just praying a crisis time prayer? God is not one to be bargained with. He is looking for those who will worship Him in spirit and in truth...not a fake. Christians are commanded not be getting drunk and carousing...so you disobeyed God and broke man's laws as well. I just am not sure I can pray for God to save you from this sentence. Sin has consequences, and there is no way around that. My prayer is that You truly and really repent and make Jesus Lord and move on in your life living to glorify and honor Him. We cannot pray for God to deliver out of this mess you followed the world, against God into yourself. You chose to go against God and therefore, God will not hear prayers for deliverance from this. therefore our onlt recourse for prayer is this- Lord- We pray for your Will to be done in this situation. We know they have gone against your will in actions. therefore, we ask, as you deliver them thru this with consequences you so choose, that they will realize thier mistake, truely repent in thier heart and turn from such worldly lusts and over to seeking and following you only fervently with all thier heart. We pray they will have learned a lesson from this , pay thier dues and turn away for good from deceptive worldly living and lusts of the flesh, to belong to and follow, only you Lord. In Jesus Name-Amen!!
