Joh Kerry's 'self-inflicted' Purple Heart, Bronze Star Vietnam Swift Boat vets reveal new details of charges against presidential candidate Posted: August 10, 2004 1:00 a.m. Eastern
© 2004 WorldNetDaily.com
WASHINGTON – In a letter to television station managers they hope to convince to air their blistering 60-second commercial opposing John Kerry for president, the Swift Boat Vets for Truth reveal new details of their politically sizzling charges against the candidate who made his war experience the cornerstone of his convention acceptance speech. Attempting to bolster their accusations that Kerry misrepresented slight injuries to win Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star, the vets cite a March 13, 1969, incident for which the young lieutenant was decorated. Two injuries – a small bruise on his right arm and a minor injury to his buttocks – won Kerry his Third Purple Heart and a trip home. However, the vets say, the wound to his buttocks was self-inflicted and should never have received Purple Heart consideration. While Kerry claims the injury came from shrapnel from an underwater mine, Larry Thurlow, an officer on shore with Kerry that day, insists the wound was the result of Kerry's decision to throw a concussion grenade into a rice pile. The "shrapnel," he says, was actually rice pellets. As further evidence, the vets say, Kerry himself reflected in his own journal that his buttocks' wound came, not from a mine but, rather, from a grenade tossed into a rice cache. Sworn statements of those present say there was no hostile fire involved in this incident for which Kerry receive his third Purple Heart and the coveted Bronze Star. "The conclusion is inescapable: that Kerry lied by reporting to the Navy that he had been wounded by shrapnel in his backside from an enemy mine when in reality he negligently wounded himself and then lied about the wound in order to secure a third Purple Heart and a quick trip home," reads the letter. The letter continues: "Kerry's operating report, Bronze Star story, and subsequent 'no man left behind' story are a total hoax on the Navy and the nation," they say. As to the daring rescue discussed in the documentary video shown to the nation at the Democratic convention, the vets say the rescue was well underway under the leadership of others when Kerry returned to the scene where Special Forces soldier Jim Rassman was plucked out of the water. Eyewitnesses have signed affidavits explaining when Kerry returned, there was no more hostile fire. He just merely leaned over the boat and assisted Rassman out of the water. "Kerry's account of this action, which was used to secure the Bronze Star and a third Purple Heart, is an extraordinary example of fraud," they say. The letter also recounts the incident that occurred Dec. 2, 1968, that led to Kerry receiving his first Purple Heart. Once again, the vets insist there was no hostile fire involved, and, again, they say, Kerry's very minor wound was self-inflicted. According to the vets' account, Kerry, Navy Lt. William Schachte, and an enlisted man were on a whaler. "Seeing movement from an unknown source, the sailors opened fire on the movement," the letter says. "There was no hostile fire. When Kerry's rifle jammed, he picked up an M-79 grenade launcher and fired a grenade at a nearby object. This sprayed the boat with shrapnel from Kerry's own grenade, a tiny piece of which embedded in Kerry's arm." Upon examining Kerry's injury, Dr. Lewis Letson says he asked Kerry why he was there. Kerry reportedly told him he had been wounded by hostile fire. Letson removed the tiny fragment with tweezers and placed a Band-Aid over the scratch. The next morning, Kerry went to see Division Commander Grant Hibbard to ask for the Purple Heart. Hibbard had already spoken to Schachte and conducted an investigation. Hibbard's investigation revealed that Kerry's "rose thorn" scratch had been self-inflicted in the absence of hostile fire. Hibbard denied the award. Some three months later, Kerry managed to obtain his first Purple Heart from an officer with no connection to Coastal Division 14 or knowledge of the Dec. 2, 1968, event, they say. "All normal documentation supporting a Purple Heart is missing," the letter says. "There is absolutely no casualty report (i.e., spot report) or hostile fire report or after-action report in the Navy's files to support this 'Purple Heart' because there was no casualty, hostile fire, or action on which to report. The sole document relied upon by Kerry is a record showing the band aid and tweezers treatment by Dr. Letson recorded by deceased corpsman, Jess Carreon. "There are no witnesses who claim to have seen hostile fire – necessary for a Purple Heart (even a rose thorn Purple Heart) – that day. At least three witnesses, Dr. Letson (who spoke to the participants and removed the M-79 fragment), Lt. Bill Schachte (on the boat), and Cmdr. Grant Hibbard (whose investigation revealed Kerry's application for a Purple Heart to be fraudulent), are able to testify directly or based upon contemporaneous investigation that Kerry's first Purple Heart was a fraud," says the letter. Swift Boat Vets for Truth claims a membership of 254 sailors from Coastal Squadron One, ranging from vice admirals to seamen. They claim 16 of the 23 surviving officers who served with Kerry in swift boats in Vietnam and who could be found have joined.

Again please pray with me.
We really need to know the truth about this woman.
Did Kerry tell the truth about her.
The Mary Ann myth: Kerry falsifies NH woman’s story
NEXT TIME John Kerry accuses President Bush of misleading the American people, remember Mary Ann Knowles. Knowles is the Hudson woman whose battle with breast cancer Kerry has turned into a campaign anecdote. Here is what Kerry said about Knowles during his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention on July 29: “What does it mean when Mary Ann Knowles, a woman with breast cancer I met in New Hampshire, had to keep working day after day right through her chemotherapy, no matter how sick she felt, because she was terrified of losing her family’s health insurance? America can do better. And help is on the way.” What it means is that John Kerry is fibbing. As Union Leader correspondent Scott Brooks reported on Sunday, Mary Ann Knowles did not have to work through her chemotherapy for fear of losing her health insurance. Employed by Elderhostel, the Boston-based non-profit travel organization for people 55 and older, Mary Ann had 26 weeks of paid disability at her disposal. More was available for a long-term illness. She did not have to work through her chemotherapy. She chose to. Knowles would have lost some income had she taken the disability leave, said her husband, who is unemployed. But she would not have lost her health insurance, as Kerry has repeatedly misstated. Asked if the Kerry campaign bothered to get the details of Knowles’ personal story, spokeswoman Judy Reardon said Kerry’s use of the words “every day” in describing Knowles story was “a colloquialism.” She went on: “When a woman has a mastectomy and goes through therapy, I don’t need to double-check on her.” In other words, Kerry knowingly used the words “every day” when he did not mean “every day,” and he used the phrase: “she still has to go to work every day — just to hang on to their health insurance” when she did not have to work every day and was in no danger of losing her health insurance. In short, he lied. Repeatedly. With all that has come to light about Kerry’s voting record and his Vietnam service, his misrepresentation of Marry Ann Knowles’ story should surprise few. Kerry cannot even get his own personal history straight, so how can we expect him to correctly relay someone else’s?

That's pretty sad. And he is running for president?
Lord, I pray that people's eyes will be open. I pray that this news will get out and spread like wildfire. Help this country to make the right decision come election time.
Amen

This doesn't look good for him, he made many mistakes and honesty doesn't seem to be his favorite virtue.
Father I ask you to reveal the truth to the American people and to bring Kerry to repentance and salvation. When the truth is revealed he'll need strength and protection or he might break under this yoke which he created for himself. Please help him and protect him and lead him to Jesus. Your will be done.Amen.

...A Vietnam veteran and former Green Beret says he is deeply offended by John Kerry's accusations of massive war crimes in Vietnam by American soldiers -- as well as by his total defense of Vietnamese atrocities. Ted Sampley, one of the founders of Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry, says the Democratic presidential nominee and his supporters have been like a broken record telling the American public about his military service in Vietnam. But Sampley says the Massachusetts senator has been deliberately silent about his activities after returning home from Southeast Asia. He contends Kerry became a "communist propaganda machine" by telling the world that American troops were "generally raping, killing, mangling, and burning villages" in Vietnam. "He was carrying water for the North Vietnamese during the war," Sampley says, "and he's carrying water for them now when it comes to normalized relations and defending them against their human-rights violations." He says the latest example of those violations occurred last Christmas when North Vietnamese communists committed atrocities against the ethnic Christian Montengards because of their religion. Sampley also says it deeply offended him for John Kerry to call him and other Vietnam vets "war criminals." He says just as in Iraq today, most soldiers conducted themselves honorably in Vietnam.

Standing in agreement
Yes, Lord, pull back the darkness and let your light shine on the deeds that all will see and know what is the truth, whatever it may be. Your Word says that We shall the know the truth, and the truth will set us free. Father, we pray for freedom in America....Call your children to pray, and set in motion renewal and rebirth for America. In the Name of Jesus I claim the truth of 2 Thessalonians 3:1 (Msg) Pray that the Master's Word will simply take off and race through the country to a groundswell of response, just as it did among you.
Thank You Lord for your care for us...I join and agree with the previous said prayers and repray them in renewal and ask a special blessing for the pray-er.
Amen and Amen

why not?

...Questions are being raised over why John Kerry is refusing to release his military medical records as a way of clearing up the controversy over his Purple Heart awards. Cliff Kincaid of the think tank America's Survival wonders why Kerry will not release the records which would settle who is right in this story. "This is a curiosity that we've been noting for many, many months," Kincaid explains. "What he is trying to hide is a matter of speculation, but the claims made by some Vietnam vets -- that he didn't deserve some of his medals -- may be verified by some of the actual medical records that Kerry will not release." Kincaid says the issue must be debated if Kerry will not release the records. Meanwhile, lawyers for the Democratic Party continue to threaten televisions stations that decide to run the ads by Swift Boat veterans that dispute Kerry's claims.
Father, Please let the truth come forth. Provide a way for your people to know how they should be voting in November. Father, we Pray for the President of the United States. Give him Wisdom, and at the time of the Election give us a Christian in the White House! Lord, God let your Spirit ring the bells of Christians throughout our Nation and throughout our World. Heal America Lord, we ask for your involvement in the politics of today, and ask for your Will for America. Lord, let America be truly a Nation under God! In the Mighty Name of Jesus we Ask. Amen and Amen

I just ran across this today....Please Pray. This agenda should not go forward.
If Elected, Kerry Expected to Be Most Pro-Homosexual Prez Ever
By Bill Fancher and Mary Rettig
August 23, 2004
(AgapePress) - A pro-family leader says homosexuals will be celebrating if Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry wins the White House.
Rob Schenck of the National Clergy Council says Kerry has promised the homosexual community that he will champion their cause -- a promise that was relayed to a homosexual rally in Boston, Massachusetts, after the recent Democratic National Convention.
Schenck says members of the homosexual community "know who Senator Kerry is, regardless of what he says about his beliefs on marriage. They know precisely the policies that he will embrace, and it will be full support for the so-called homosexual political agenda."
The National Clergy Council leader says Kerry is committed to his view of social redesign, which includes new status for homosexuals. However, the pastor warns about the societal impact of electing Kerry to the White House, since homosexual advocates themselves predict that a Kerry White House would be the most pro-homosexual administration in U.S. history.
"Gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans-gendered social agenda -- all of that is very much a part of Senator Kerry's philosophy of government and social restructuring," Schenck says.
A former homosexual who now helps people break free from that lifestyle is also warning that pro-family individuals should be concerned about the political gains and future aims of today's homosexual movement.
Randy Thomas, a spokesman for Exodus International, says the homosexual agenda has changed since 20 or 30 years ago. He contends that homosexual activists, no longer content just to gain tolerance and acceptance, are seeking power over their adversaries. "I see it sort of as a vengeful attack against people they perceive are unenlightened, not progressive, and all these different things," he says.
"They're not seeking tolerance anymore -- they're seeking power," Thomas asserts. He adds that the struggle between the radical homosexual agenda and the pro-family movement is a dangerous battle -- and he fears that if homosexuality wins, religious liberty loses.

AGAPE PRESS 8/23/2004
...A former Naval officer who has co-written a book refuting what John Kerry has claimed about his days in Vietnam says the vast majority of officers who served with Kerry do not believe he is fit for the presidency. John O'Neill is part of the group Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. Even before his book Unfit for Command was released, he was at the center of a firestorm over Kerry's service in Vietnam and says his group has scores of witnesses who support his contention that Kerry exaggerated his exploits during the war. Those witnesses are among the co-signatories on a letter to the Democratic presidential hopeful, demanding that he provide a full and accurate accounting of his conduct in Vietnam. The author of Unfit for Command notes, "The truth is, what we've got is 17 of the 23 officers who served with him on these little boats immediately adjoining him, have signed our letter -- almost all of his commanding officers and more than 60 of the sailors who were there with him, and the testimony they have to offer is first-hand testimony." And O'Neill says even some of those servicemen on Kerry's boat "will not factually stand with him. For example, none of them will say that he was in Cambodia on Christmas day as he recited over and over again to the world. Not a single sailor will say that because they won't lie for him, at least in that way."
