Two of his brothers starved in home filled with food - The room was littered with 307 beer cans; Kent woman had blood-alcohol concentration of 0.40

Police counted 307 empty beer cans in the bedroom of an East Hill apartment where 16 month old Raiden the youngest son starved to death in his bassinet he was the youngest son of Marie Robinson.

The body of another young boy who also died of malnutrition was found in the other bedroom. In the living room, police found food wrappers and s********s of cold food, indicating that Robinson's third son, a 2 1/2-year-old, had been foraging for food.

Charging papers said that the home was ``stocked with food,'' including infant formula and baby foods.

The two children who died succumbed to dehydration and malnutrition anywhere from 24 to 72 hours before police found their bodies, prosecutors wrote in charging papers filed Wednesday in King County Superior Court.

Robinson, who police said is under suicide watch at the county jail in Seattle, was charged with two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of her sons, Raiden Robinson, 7 weeks, and his 17-month-old brother, Justice Robinson.

She also was charged with one count of reckless endangerment because police say she was failing to care for her 2 1/2-year-old son. The child was filthy and hungry when officers entered the family's apartment Sunday afternoon after Robinson's boyfriend, who is the father of the three boys, was unable to contact her by telephone or by knocking at the door.

Robinson, 36, is being held on $2 million bail. If convicted of the charges, she faces a prison term ranging from 20 to 36 years, said Dan Donohoe, a spokesman for the Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

Because of the severity of the case, prosecutors could consider asking for an ``exceptional sentence,'' a prison term longer than that standard sentencing range, Donohoe said.

After her arrest, the mother told police she ``thought she was doing a good job with the kids,'' the charging papers said. She told police she ``began drinking'' after she discovered her 7-week-old son dead in his bassinet on Friday, Nov. 12, three days before police came to the apartment, but she didn't call anybody about the infant's death.

Kent police found Robinson's two-bedroom unit at the Summit Apartments, 10811 S.E. 2339th St., littered with garbage and laundry and reeking of urine and feces. After finding the two children deceased, the surviving boy was placed in the care of his maternal grandmother.

Robinson, who family members said had a history of alcohol abuse, was so intoxicated she was taken by police to Valley Medical Center for examination.

Prosecutors said she was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.40, five times the 0.08 level at which state law presumes a person is intoxicated.

The charging papers said police found the 307 empty beer cans in the bedroom where officers found Robinson sleeping on Sunday afternoon. Police found the refrigerator and pantry was ``stocked with food,'' including frozen foods, bread, canned fruit and baby foods, and unopened cans of infant formula.

An autopsy of the two children on Monday determined they suffered from ``chronic malnourishment.'' A pathologist concluded the immediate cause of death was a lack of food and water in the two to four days prior to their deaths, the charging papers said.

According to records from the state Department of Social and Health Services, child welfare officials had received four reports of possible neglect of Robinson's children.

In two cases, welfare officials apparently concluded there were no serious problems and referred the cases to public health nurses to assess the family's needs. In the third case in October 2003, reports of neglect were determined to be unfounded, state officials said.

The fourth report was in February, but state officials said it was unresolved. Officials earlier this week said they have launched an internal investigation to review how that and other cases involving the family were handled.

Robinson has four other children by an earlier marriage that ended in divorce. Her former husband, who has custody of those four children, told Kent police that Robinson has a history of alcohol abuse. In the past, the ex-husband said, his children had to be placed in the care of others ``due to Marie's intoxication,'' the charging papers said.

Kent detectives said they have obtained surveillance videos from a Fred Meyer store that show that Robinson, who was on public assistance, obtained grocery items with food stamps and then returned some of the goods for cash or a gift card. She would return to the store later and use cash or a gift card to buy beer, the charging papers said.

EFFECTS OF ALCOHOL

Authorities say the woman accused of allowing her children to starve to death had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.40 percent when contacted Sunday by police.

State law presumes that a person with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 is intoxicated.

Alcohol effects vary, but here are some examples of effects of increasing BAC levels:

0.08 -- Level at which state law presumes a person is intoxicated.

0.15 -- Gross motor impairment and lack of physical control. Blurred vision and loss of balance.

0.25 -- All mental, physical and sensory functions are severely impaired.

0.35 -- Coma is possible. This is the level of surgical anesthesia.

0.40 -- Onset of coma, and possible death due to respiratory arrest.

Jesus there is not enough words to pray for these children. Comfort this one who has survived and continue to raise him up to be a mighty warrior for you.

Father, thank You for Your mercy in taking these babies quickly into Your arms!

Lord I cannot imagine how anyone could do this!

Nevertheless, Marie needs Salvation!

Her husband needs Salvation!

And Pheonix needs to be raised in a home filled with the Spirit and Loving Jesus!

God favor Pheonix with a home that honors You, follows Jesus and dwells in the Spirit and Anointing!

Bring Marie to repentance, deliverance from her addiction to alcohol and forgive her neglect of the treasure You gave her!

Bring her to Jesus for Salvation and love.

Holy Spirit, bring the rest of the people in this ravaged family to Jesus for Salvation!

Do Not allow them to run from God, Cause them to run to Him!

FYI= By the way in case people are wondering where the Father of these babies was, he was in jail so he is not guilty of their deaths or neglect. He still needs Jesus!

Father, in Jesus' Name we pray that this baby grow up in a home filled with Your Presence. We pray that he be allowed to know his father and other relatives if there are any and if they want to see him, too.

In Jesus' Name we ask that this Mother find a close friend in prison who has a very strong anointing and can pull her out of darkness so she can be a witness for You, wherever she is in the future.

Send comfort to the other four children, in Jesus' Name, and let them be brought up always in Your Presence as well. Let them continue to love their mother and bring honor to Your Name. Please compel them to send notes every once in awhile, to let her know that they are thinking about her and that she still matters to them.

Let all these things our Adversary meant for evil be turned around for good, also in Jesus' Name......Amen.

Wow, Jesus! Save, heal and deliver this family! Sometimes one is just at a loss as to how to pray, but, Dear Lord, You know what this family needs. Send someone to witness to them, that they each have a chance to know You as Savior. Do a miralce for all of them, and bring amazing healing to each person involved. In Jesus Name, amen.

Father I call upon your name over this little boy's life. Jehova Phoenix has suffered enough trauma at a tender age of two. Father I pray for the spiritual healing of his mother. Father Phoenix's siblings died of starvation in a house full of food. Jehova I call upon your divine intervention. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I take this opportunity to pray for all those children who are being raised by alcoholic mothers to be delivered from their parents' sins. I pray in the name of Jesus amen.

I just don't understand why parents have kids when they don't even take the responsibility of caring for their children. Children should be their TOP priority and not their thirst for alcohol or drugs. Parents like this are no better than the common criminal and they should be locked away...

Lord, as I read this post earlier, my heart was crying out in pain. I prayed for understanding, and I continue to do that. It is not our job to ask why, but it is our job to pray for families worldwide where there is so much disfunction....(that is the word used instead of sin) How can it be. How do we stop this kind of thing from happening? How do we stop people from killing their own children, whether from neglect or plain outright murder. Father, what can we do? How can we help?

And as I prayed for understanding, I heard the Lord say....many starve when the food is on the table. Many die unsaved, when the gift of life sits on their table and all they have to do is pick it up. He was talking of Salvation and his great gift to the world. Like a present especially chosen for a particular person, brightly wrapped, and given in love.....and there are so many who will not receive it.

Lord, let us share the good news of the gospel. Lord, set this nation free through the Love of Jesus. Lord, if these people would have accepted this awesome gift of salvation and forgiveness, these children would have lived.

How dare we not share the "secret of life" with everyone we meet. Lord, renew in us a desire to share your miracles in our lives with others so they too can know you. So they can say YES to Jesus! So they can be forgiven, and so children don't have to die.

Lord, thank you that these children are with you and will never have to suffer again. Thank you for sparing the life of Phoenix. Father, in the Name of Jesus we claim him for your Kingdom. We ask that he be blessed with a safe and happy, Jesus loving home, where he will come to know you and seek you and fulfill the purpose you have for his life.

Lord, thank you for sharing your words of wisdom with me. Let me never be the same again, but be the person you want me to be, and speak the words you want me to speak and pray for the people you have for me to pray for.

Lord, call the people of America to repentence, court them, show them your love and mercy and show them YOUR GRACE! Father, it is for the Glory of Your Son, that we ask. AMEN and AMEN

Dear Father God, I am weeping for those children Raiden and Justice who died, and asking for Your unbounded Mercy for Phoenix who survived. I know those innocent babies are safe folded in Your arms, and in Your Heart. Please anoint and bless Phoenix with Your Holy Spirit, and grant that the abuse and all it entailed ends NOW and will have NO further effects on Phoenix, and NO further results in his life. May he be freed in body, mind and spirit from all that has happened, may he be homed with a decent, Christian family who will love and help him and raise him to know YOU, Heavenly Father.
I do not know what to pray for the mother of the three babies. I know you love her Lord, and hate what she has done, but that You will never hate her. May she find Christian souls wherever she is held who will allow her to know and love You through their words and actions and life example. Heal her, Lord, and remake her life.
Please bless the whole family, Lord, and bring them all through this and into Your Light. Amen
