thanksgiving: A time to remember what the Lord has done for you.
"O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon His name: make known His deeds among the people." Psalm 105:1
Has God touched your life in a special way through this web-site or in
the services? Prayer requests pour in,
day by day, and people take those needs to the Lord in prayer. It's
easy to stop at the first portion of that scripture.
Will you take a moment and write about your answers to prayer, so all of
us can join together in a great time of Thanksgiving?
Oh by the way it would be nice to drop a note to my Dad and say Hi.
He has been working so hard it would make him smile

God is so good and I praise Him daily!
I joined this site back in November of last year. At that time, I was unemployed and needed a job. Well, I was offered one job on December 8th and I just did not have a good feeling about. I mean it was a great job with a good company but it just did not feel like it was meant for me from God.
Well, the very next day, God had my phone ring at 10:30 am and it was a job offer from the job that I wanted but felt was out of my reach. (But God knew it wasn't) Anyway, I was offered the job and this job has been the greatest blessing for me. I work with 3 other ladies in my office and we are all Christians. I have the best salary, health insurance, tuition reinbursement, holiday/vacation time ever. God is so good!
I have had prayers of having restoration between me and Chris. God told me last year that it would be and this year on August 20, 2004 it was. I have full restoration with Chris and am looking forward to sharing Thanksgiving with him for the first time in 2 years!!
Also, I was sued in March and was so frigthened the prospect of being in court ( I guess I watched one to many court shows!). Anyway, I posted a prayer on the morning that I was to go to court. At the time that my court case started, I felt an real overwhelming peace in my spirit. I literally felt thousands praying for me and I heard God's voice telling me that everything will be okay.
God's hand is so ever upon me and each day is a blessing. I just can't help but shout and rejoice! Hallelujah, Thank You Jesus

This is a definite YES!!!
I joined in March 2003 (?), and all I can say is: WOW!!! I have never had answers such as I've had since coming in agreement with folks on here.
There was money ($400) provided for glasses by an organization I never have known the name of, all because someone I was praying with regularly in a thread, arranged this for me.
There was coming off unemployment into my current job. (They told me at employment security I would fill out 400 applications before getting hired, which turned out to be hogwash).
There was and has continued to be protection when I have to walk home from work at night. And, I remember, one week, where I nearly got hit by three different cars.... we're talking within inches of me! And one vehicle nearly hit me in the DAY LIGHT. That was when we were planning the first marriage vigil.
There was Jedijeb filled with the Holy Spirit, back when we had the "Let's Pray!!!" breakthrough Thursday thread. I was praying for all in there to be filled, and he was the first.
There was and continues to be an increase of anointing like I can't even explain.
There was people saved in the chat room! Well, I was in there one night when it happened.
There was people filled with the Spirit and praying in tongues for the first time when we prayed with them in chat. I was in there two times, at least, when this happened.
There was just praying for God to move in mighty ways as we sought Him in chat, and He would touch us so hugely.... WOW!!! Drunk in the Spirit, etc. Oh, so hard to describe all that we felt and experienced.
There was the providing of furniture, something I asked prayer for back in the "Can You Pray This Through With Me?" and "Let's Pray!!!" threads. When my niece moved in, she used money she had saved up to buy really gorgeous furniture!!!
There was the ability to work, inspite of degenerative joint disease and chronic kneck/headache problems, sometimes sick headaches. I only missed HALF A DAY of work due to such problems.
There was the wonderful moving of the Spirit during all the different vigils where we fasted and prayed.
There was the beautiful, wonderul comraderie of joining with others in the fasting and "Breakthrough Thursday"s.
There was the most awesome sense of God's Presence, back when I would just leave the site open (well, I often still do, though people complain they can't call me ), and pray in the Spirit for an hour or two in between my posting sessions. I would come on and post so FULL of Jesus, I can't even begin to describe it.
There was meeting all the cool people along the way, some of which touched my life so much.... some of which I still pray can get back with us.
There was and is just this most awesome board to post on, as in we can pray all in our heart and really express our prayers to God fully. I have seen no site like it.
There was this really neat brother/sister feel in the "Let's Pray!!!" thread, that showed true maturity in the group there. Some of us brought up tongues, and I just assumed as this is called "anointed.net" and I have been to Jerry's meetings, everyone was pretty much a tongues talker on here. Well, some weren't too sure about tongues. But nobody got mad and we all accepted each other. This was just SO super cool to me!!! I even joked with them, "Thanks for letting this tongues talker hang out with You guys."
Something special happens on here. Like I wrote a song (Gonna Dance on THIS SIDE of the Red Sea!) and a poem (End of 2004.... ROAR!!!) with just a quick, quick flow.... My writing can be very frustrated when I try to write with pen and paper, not on this forum. Also wrote this little poem that I sent to encourage Ninababy73 about praying God's Presence would visit her. That just flowed, too. If you knew how bad I struggle with writing, even though it is one of my talents, you would understand.
Oh, yes, whoohoo!!! I had skipped this, but came back up here, 'cause it fits more in this sequence of events. My $101 fine for not wearing the seat belt was dismissed!!! I mean, I was SO excited that time!!! I had planned to go away for two days to seek God, and that hit the day before I left.... I REFUESED to let it stop me, even though commone sense said take some of the hotel money and pay that. I put the ticket inside the Bible at Malachi 3:10 - 11, where it says the devourer is rebuked for the sake of those who tithe and give offerings. Every time I thought of it, I said, "That thing's taken care of!" That was the first miracle that ushered in so many more, all needs that I wrote on the back of a "$100" bill (wrapping paper motif) and put in Malachi 3:10 - 11, which I have done from that time on.
And this was an interesting chain of events, becuase in order to pay for the hotel I had gone to Wal*Mart and got a refund on the approximately $200 vacuum I was trying to buy (I was at the stage where I thought I'd NEVER have a vacuum, so I had put one on layaway....), I planned to go to this other store called "Stupid Prices" and get an Orek for $59.99 (no tax). But, then, this fine arose, so I was thinking I wouldn't be able to get a vacuum in forever.... But the fine was dismiissed, and though the Orek was no longer in the store and I was thinking: (because I beleived God told me to take the money from Wal*Mart to get the Orek), I found this other vacuum for the same price. Everyone tells me it's a really good vacuum, and it was $59.99! My biggest fear was getting a vacuum that didn't work well, and that store only has instore credit....
There was (OF COURSE!!!) this computer I now type on!!! Thanks to ALL YOU GUYS and THE LORD (many hugs!!!), I have a really nice puter with all the parts (speakers; a three in one printer/copier/scanner; a new monitor, with a bigger screen, which means bigger print, which I definitely needed; key board; mouse.... all for about $429!!!). Is God awesome or what??? I still can not believe this one some times!!! But He knew exactly what I needed for my ministry!!!
Another miracle: I just got FREE anti-virus protection! I was posting in a thread up in the "Bugs, Suggestions and Help" forum, and I saw someone had resurrected an old thread. What should be mentioned in there but AGV, the anti-virus service I am now using? That was God's timing.
There was the move from the one bedroom to the two bedroom, which has been a huge blessing. Now, I have my own room to do my prayer closet time and my anointed.net ministry in.
There was a GIGANTIC miracle called a NEW FRIDEGE!!! No more leaky fridge!!! How can even put a price on that???
I recall times of really fretting about the bills getting paid or caught up (even crying over money), but, in spite of my tears, God was 100 % faithful. Everything is NOW current going into the winter months, which always means reduced hours at work.
Then, I can't forget this one (Whoohoo!!! ): The ER bill that was orginally $794 was reduced to $189!!! I only have to make $25 payments each month, down from the $80 originally asked for. Tha's a praise!!!
The time I fell on the stairs, when moving stuff here.... Hmm.... Normally, something much smaller would have me in so much pain I couldn't work for a week, and I worked after falling, even though kneck was somewhat stiff, and later jaw got stiff.... I mean, that was just plain the prayer covering of the saints from this site!!!
My niece was lice free WAY QUICKER than any past bouts in that family.
There is just this new level of anointing, and it's kind of this contiual flow.... like I just walk IN HIS PRESENCE. I will feel cold symptons coming on, say, and I will pray a little bit, and they will just go. That's the prayer covering, too, I'm sure.
And when the devil attacks.... well, the new level of anointing rises to meet the new attack.
My personal relationship with Jesus has grown about 110%. I have learned to seek Him, for He, Himself, not for what He can do. Just fellowshipping and communing with Him, letting Him hold me and whisper to me, or just gazing into His lovely face as He gazes lovingly back.... WOW!!!
And how about the incredible faith and faithfullness God has given me to pray for William Jefferson Clinton? Not that I hadn't been called to pray for him back when he was in the Whitehouse, but since praying on here, I have never been so sure of anything in my life!!!
Hey, hey, let's not forget George W. Bush back in the Whitehouse!!! How aswsomely God answered our prayers for him!!! And I know the prayers of many others, too....
After AW started the Iraq thread, "Let's Pray," some things begin to change in the war situation -- for the good!
I know this is long, but I LOVE TO PRAISE HIM!!! And.... what can I say??? So touched and blessed through this site. And SO MANY miracles have happened!!! Didn't want to have to edit this, either....

I had to add this, 'cause it's a brand, spanking new praise!!! :
When I went to pay my ebill (electric), it was lowered from $47 to $14.07, because of some new reduced rates for low income people. Only the Lord knows my money situation and how I was trying to juggle everything.... This is blessing on an offering I haven't even given yet!!! At least the money I just gave was not for a financial blessing; it was in honor of William J. Clinton. Whoohoo!!! Hallelujah!!!

I thank Almighty God for working through all of you who come to this website to teach people like me how to let go of bad things.
And I thank God for putting treasures in charge of everything here, who are truly strong in His Spirit.
I thank God for putting the idea of this website into Jerry Gaffney, who is a humble spirit and great in the kingdom of God, a fine teacher and greatly gifted.
I thank God for putting in different prayer rooms on this site, so we can go to the part of the body that understands that need at that time in our lives.
I thank the people on this site for never giving up, even when things are horrible! And for sharing and giving other people comfort when they, themselves are in such desperate need.
I thank God for soldiers who play! And who bring joy and much anointing to this website, with tears of laughter we read their antics. Laughter doeth good like a medicine.
I am grateful for the angry ones, the ones full of rage and hate. The ones full of depression and suicide. The fearful ones. The ones who have been through so much and have so much more to go through. We have all walked where you are walking and are now walking beside you here. Let's all learn together how to come out of it.
This site has helped me to advance in the Spirit by handing me a mirror. The things I've hated most were the things that were in me. This site has helped tease that out through prayer for other people. (Well, I hope most of it is out!)
Intercessory prayer is the highest calling after becoming a child of God, I think. I may be wrong, but it is what I am thinking right now.
Finally, I am thankful to God for providing the money to support this website. Without it we would all be silent in our homes. Thank You, Father and thank you all for being friends.
Hugs & Kisses!
Carol
Thanks, Shawn, for this prompting to be thankful! We are all grateful for your skills on this site! AMEN!

INDIAN AID AND A BLESSED THANKSGIVING (EXCERPT)
by Dr. Ralph F. Wilson
...In Plymouth that cold winter of 1620....the Pilgrim's muskets had slain no natives, nor had any arrows struck Englishmen. Disease had been the killer. The Pilgrims discovered corn fields cleared in the forests, now deserted. What had once been a bustling village of Patuxet (Pa TUK et) Indians nearby, stood empty, ravaged by disease four years earlier, leaving but a single survivor.
The Pilgrims, themselves, lived on the edge of survival that first winter. They had begun well enough. After 66 days crossing the stormy Atlantic, 104 Pilgrims beheld the New World, including a baby boy, Oceanus, born at sea.
"Being thus arrived in a good harbor and brought safe to land," wrote Governor William Bradford, "they fell upon their knees and blessed the God of heaven, who had brought them over the vast and furious ocean, and delivered them from all the perils and miseries thereof, again to set their feet on the firm and stable earth, their proper element."
But within four months, scurvy, pneumonia, and a virulent strain of tuberculosis had cut down whole families of Pilgrims. As the sickness raged, only six or seven persons in the whole company were strong enough to tend the sick and comfort the dying.
Six died in December, then eight in January, seventeen in February. Of March, Bradford wrote, "This month thirteen of our number die...scarce fifty remain, the living scarce able to bury the dead." Of eighteen married women, only three remained. Baby Oceanus died....

THE PLYMOUTH THANKSGIVING STORY (EXCERPT)
By Chuck Larson
--including some challenging observations from a Native American viewpoint--
When the Pilgrims crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 1620, they landed on the rocky shores of a territory that was inhabited by the Wampanoag (Wam pa NO ag) Indians....(who) lived in round-roofed houses called wigwams....Wigwams differ in construction from tipis....We can only guess what the Wampanoags must have thought when they first saw the strange ships of the Pilgrims arriving on their shores. But their custom was to help visitors, and they treated the newcomers with courtesy. It was mainly because of their kindness that the Pilgrims survived at all. The wheat the Pilgrims had brought with them to plant would not grow in the rocky soil. They needed to learn new ways for a new world, and the man who came to help them was called "Tisquantum" (Tis SKWAN tum) or "Squanto" (SKWAN toe),....originally from the village of Patuxet (Pa TUK et) and a member of the Pokanokit Wampanoag nation....
By the time fall arrived things were going much better for the Pilgrims, thanks to the help they had received. The corn they planted had grown well. There was enough food to last the winter. They were living comfortably in their Indian-style wigwams and had also managed to build one European-style building out of squared logs. This was their church. They were now in better health, and they knew more about surviving in this new land. The Pilgrims decided to have a thanksgiving feast to celebrate their good fortune....Captain Miles Standish, the leader of the Pilgrims, invited Squanto, Samoset of the Wabanake (Wab NAH key) Tribe, Massasoit (the leader of the Wampanoags), and their immediate families to join them for a celebration, but they had no idea how big Indian families could be. As the Thanksgiving feast began, the Pilgrims were overwhelmed at the large turnout of ninety relatives....The Pilgrims were not prepared to feed a gathering of people that large for three days. Seeing this, Massasoit gave orders to his men within the first hour of his arrival to go home and get more food. Thus it happened that the Indians supplied the majority of the food: Five deer, many wild turkeys, fish, beans, squash, corn soup, corn bread, and berries....It was a special time of friendship between two very different groups of people....
...May God rest your heart and mind, may He bless and keep you and your family, and may He continue to extend His blessings upon our nation. May He grant us courage and wisdom to match the tests of our age. May He impress upon us the spirit of our forefathers, their soul-deep craving for freedom, expressed with acknowledgement of their debts to God, as we strive to meet the challenges of our day.
As our forebears remembered with every prayerful word of gratitude, even self-reliance is, at its root, reliance on Him. In the words of John Winthrop, the choice is ours: "But if our hearts shall turn away, so that we will not obey, but shall be seduced, and worship other Gods, our pleasure and profits, and serve them; it is propounded unto us this day, we shall surely perish out of the good land whither we pass over this vast sea to possess it. ... Therefore let us choose life, that we and our seed may live, by obeying His voice and cleaving to Him, for He is our life and our prosperity."
(copied)
"...Choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days."
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 KJV
"We ought to give thanks for all fortune: if it is 'good,' because it is good, if 'bad' because it works in us patience, humility and the contempt of this world and the hope of our eternal country."
C.S. Lewis
"...In every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."
Philippians 4:6 KJV
"No people on earth have more cause to be thankful than ours, and this is said reverently, in no spirit of boastfulness in our own strength,
but with the gratitude to the Giver of good who has blessed us."
Theodore Roosevelt
"Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits."
Psalm 103:1-2 KJV
"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."
John Fitzgerald Kennedy
