Father, I stand in the gap for Johnny Carson's Family! Holy Spirit, work in their hearts for their Salvations! Comfort them in this time of grief and mourning. Thank You Lord. AMEN!

He sure had a lot of people thinking highly of him. He was said by a close friend to be "intensely private and a deeply generous man." Perhaps his religious beliefs were just that, very personal and private. I hope so. He lost a son in 1991- Richard Carson in a road accident. He also served in the U.S. Navy in 1943 to 1946. He had open heart surgery sometime in the late 1990's. Even the timeline of his life seemed sketchy.

Dear Father in Heaven, I know You are merciful and kind. I pray that You take care of Johnny Carson. I pray for his family that they will have a chance to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ and have their sins remitted. Let their thoughts be turned to Thee and comfort and give them peace. I ask in Jesus Holy Name amen.

Father in the name of Jesus I pray that somehow You revealed Yourself to Johnny and he accepted Your offer of eternal life. I pray that at some point in Johnny's life he accepted the finished works on calvary for himself. I pray that there be ministering angels to comfort the family and witness to the world.

Lord, I pray that Mr. Carson is with You in heaven now and that at the time of his death that he knew that YOu were with him, ready to take him home. Please send blessings to his family that mourn his passing.

1/23/05: Johnny Carson died from emphysema. He was 79 years old.

John William Carson was born in Corning, Iowa on 10/23/25. He was raised in Norfolk, Nebraska.

Death: January 23, 2005, from emphysema, in Malibu, California.

Alexis Maas was born in 1952 and raised in the Pittsburg North Hills area.

First Marriage: Joan "Jody" Morrill Wolcott (born in 1926). Wedding date: October 1, 1949. Johnny and Joan were college sweethearts. They divorced in 1963 in a Mexican divorce. Johnny and Joan had three children. Joan tried to increase her alimony in 1990, but lost the case.

Second Marriage: Joanne Copeland (born in 1932). Wedding date: August 17, 1963. They were married at the Marble Collegiate Church on Fifth Avenue in New York City and had a small reception in their apartment. Divorced in 1972. She received $500,000 in cash and art, and lifetime alimony payments of $100,000 a year.

Third Marriage: Joanna Holland (born in 1941). Wedding date: September 30, 1972. She was a model. It was a secret wedding on the afternoon of his talk show's tenth anniversary party. They separated in 1982 and divorced on March 8, 1983. She received $20 million settlement in 1985 in cash and property.

Children:

Christopher Carson, born in 1950. Chris is a golf instructor and lives in Florida.

Richard (Ricky) Wolcott Carson, born in 1952. Died on June 21, 1991, in a car accident. His car plunged down a steep embankment on Highway 1 near the town of Cayucos, north of San Luis Obispo. He was a photographer.

Johhny, Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi and University of Nebraska at Lincoln (1947-1949) where he received a BA in Radio and Speech.

Johnny, ensign in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946. Johnny served on the USS Pennsylvania. bow and arrow, radio announcer, comedy writer, comedian, television host. He composed the theme song for his talk show with Paul Anka.
Alexis was a legal secretary.


Hobbies: Johnny enjoyed playing tennis and did so even in his 70's. He and Alexis traveled together a great deal. Other hobbies of Johnny were archery, poker, sailing, reading, and astronomy.

Johnny Carson set up the John W. Carson Foundation. The foundation has donated millions to many charities such as animal conservation groups, various medical causes in Africa and the United States, youth groups, and educational foundations. In his hometown of Norfolk, Nebraska, Johnny also contributed to the the Carson Regional Cancer Center, the public library, the community college, the local arts center, and the Norfolk high school's Johnny Carson Theatre. He donated $5.3 million the performing arts department at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.


Health Issues:
He had quadruple bypass surgery on March 19, 1999 in Santa Monica, California. In 2002, Johnny announced he was suffering from emphysema.

I hope and pray that he was saved. He did bring laughter and honor to people here on earth. I too liked his show. I have never heard anything of any relationship with the Lord....I pray it was so, but based on his life, it does not appear he was. Perhaps Pat Boone would know.....and then again, does it matter now? Let us Trust God to send our Prayers into the past and pray for his salvation. Lord, I do pray that Johnny Carson will find Grace and Redemption in Jesus before he dies. Lord, take this pray back 20 years or 30 years and multiply it exponentially. Call him to you Lord. For you are the God of Time. In the Name of Jesus, I ask. AMEN

I believe he's in heaven! Giggling, laughing out loud, with a big turban on his head! I believe he is so happy because God is real and did not forget him! I can almost see his shoulders shaking, trying to hold back the giggles......what a joy he has seen, his eyes all squinty at the outer corners! He probably never knew heaven could be so good!

Lord, comfort the family Mr. Carson left behind. Let them know about the reunion that is coming soon, if they are patient and ask questions and wait for You to answer them. Give them peace that passes all understanding, the oil of joy for mourning.....In Jesus' Name we pray....Amen.
