The Armour of God

This was my answer to a post about the Armour of God
How often do we put it on.

I just love the studying the Word of God.

Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

The word PUT ON
is in the Aorist Imperative tense
It has no past, present or future
It is the eternal act of today or now

The Imperative is a command not a request or suggestion.

The best way of seeing it is here

Luk 9:23 And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

DENY and TAKE UP are both in the Aorist Imperative

Then the Holy Spirit Added Daily
so you would understand to do it DAILY

Just as you must
Deny yourself daily
TAKE UP your cross daily

You must put on your Armour DAILY
It is the same Aorist Imperative

Yes you might have bathed yesterday
but today is a new day.

Washed with the washing of the water of the word.
If we did not bath today we stink.

If we do not deny ourselves today
If we do not die daily 1Cr 15:31 ..... I die daily.
If we do not take up our cross daily
If we do not put on our armour daily

These are all Imperative Commands to be done daily
again they are not suggestions or requests.
Jesus is demanding and commanding that you do this daily.
Now is He Lord and Master of everything.
If the word demand made you feel upset then the
Holy Spirit is working of some flesh that has not died yet.

We must do this daily otherwise we are not ready for battle that day.
That is why so many Christians are not victorious on a daily basis. Satan is kicking them around because they have not put on the Armour of God properly that day.

These words are so meaningful because there sometimes seems to be an attitude that "now I am saved" and it will be easy from here on out. I actually think that's when the warfare really begins. When the adversary catches you off guard even for an instance he is always looking for chinks in the armor and soft spots where he can find a way in. If we put on the armor every day no matter how busy we are, it will be virtually impossible for him to find a way in. I think we have to do like Jerry says, die every day and remind ourselves what it took for us to get saved. Think of the price it cost The Savior, every drop of blood. Thanks for that powerful reminder...

Armor of God KJV Version NOT DAILY

The KJV DOES not say Daily ...that you may be able to stand in the evil day. Pray it and beleive it. DO not be double minded....James GOD'S WORD STANDS FOREVER. It is the flowers that fade.
If you need to pray let some one who has a different Gift, or life in the word' according 1 Cor. 12 pray. Also .... Cord of 3 not as easily broken... Eccles.

Question? What does the original Aramaic say regarding this?
And yes Our flesh dies Daily when we take up the cross, but God's word stands forever....much like we're born again once
My people perish for lack of Knowledge and vision... Lets put some life back into the Body of Christ.

Roger I love your passion but it is very clear you do not have an understanding of Greek Grammar. I had hoped your eyes would have been open to it.

The Word of God always defines itself
That is why I gave you so many examples.
The examples are from the word.

We are in the progression of becoming perfect.
I have not met one perfect Christian yet.
Therefore we must confess our sins Daily
As Paul said he had to die daily.
We must deny the flesh daily.
We must follow after Jesus daily
We must get dressed daily.

In Isaiah it says AWAKE, AWAKE put on your spiritual garments.
The priest had to wash daily before coming into the presence of the Lord
This is called typology of what we are to do.

The priest had to get dressed with spiritual things first
So are we.
Paul said: Cast off the old man and put on Love, joy etc....

I can tell you believe in praying and then standing and waiting for the answer. In other words praying only once for something.

I ask you was Jesus double minded
Jesus prayed more than once for many things, for healings, deliverences and help.
Elisha had to pray many times for the same thing ie.. the rain
Elisha means "God the son or God the savior"
The church had to pray many times ie.. for peter
Paul prayed many times for the same thing. There is a long list. The Thorn is just one.

Now here is my challenge...
Paul came with confirmation just as in Mark 16
So I ask you what is the confirmation of the fruit of your ministry.
Were is the beef.

Roger you said: "Much like we're born again once"
Rod Parsley just preached a wonderful sermon two weeks ago.
He said the Lord spoke to him and gave him a greater revelation on John chapter 3:3 "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God"

Rod said the Aorist Tense here was a Continual Being Born.
We must be in a state of relationship with Jesus that our expierence with Jesus is fresh and new every morning. We must seek to die daily. And we must put on the armour daily.

The armor of God

We must put on the full armor daily!!!!!!!The battle continues daily, and of the pieces of armor, in my own understanding the helmet of salvation is probably the most important. The fact that the helmet guards our thoughts--and protects our mind from invasion by the enemy. It is in the mind where the battle takes place.

Understand also that when all the armor is in place, the person's backside is exposed. Two thoughts here: never retreat and expose your backside, and also in the Psalms it says that the glory of God is our rear-guard! We need to be in correct fellowship with the Lord through total obedience, in order to keep his hand of protection over us. Step out from under your covering, and you just exposed yourself to the enemy! You cannot have any unconfessed or hidden sin, and remain in fellowship with the Lord!

"If you keep my commandments you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father;s commandments, and abide in His love." John 15:10 to abide in His love is to be in Him and Him in us!!! To be in fellowship with Him!

Once the armor is put on correctly, and the person is in right-standing with the Lord he is prepared for battle. But do you know who the enemy is? Most Christians call Satan the enemy. They say things like "the devil has been bugging me all day" or "I'm under attack from the devil". Most of the time we refer to Satan as the enemy. Satan is not omnipresent. He is the accuser of the brethren, he stands before the Lord pleading his case about our behaviors. Jesus is the intercessor--He too stands before the throne pleading our case of redemption, salvation, and forgiveess. It is like a court of law with the two opposing attorneys. Satan, the prosecutor, and Jesus the defender!

George Bush is not over in Iraq shooting guns or throwing bombs. He is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. He is in his office in Washington, DC where he orchestrates the assaults by our air, land and sea. He uses vast resources to stay in communication with his troops, he has advisors and many top aids--he has an organization, a structure, and he successfully carries out his mission. Satan, too has many resources. He is in one of the heavens accusing us and commanding his troops. he has evil spirits, thrones, principalities, governors, territory rulers, princes. He uses our emotions, our circumstances, our environments even other people against us. He uses all the latest madison Avenue marketing techniques, for pornography, witchcraft, rebellion, etc. For all rebellion is the sin of witchcraft. He uses media, songs, internet, billboards, schools, cities. he establishes rulers over territories--look at the spirit of religion that hovers over Salt Lake City, Utah--and deceives many with the false religion of Mormonism.

He has rulers over cities like Atlantic City, Las Vegas, NV with the spirits of gambling, prostitution, drug and alcohol addiction. He sues other spirits of selfishness to deceive many into acquiring large credit card debt, spending huge amounts of money on themselves to look or feel better. Satan and his cohorts love to rob us of the blessings that God has bestowed upon us! We smoke cigarettes, drink alcohol, spend money on lottery tickets, eat out fast food which is killing us--all consuming resources that could be better used to expand the kingdom of God on earth--the great commision to spread the gospel to all ends of the earth.

He (satan) and other cohorts come into our churches, and cause huge splits in the leadership and congregtions with doctrinal differences. There are over 2,000 different denominations of Christianity today that we are aware of! We can't get along with our ow brothers and sisters in our own families at home, much less with our brothers and sisters in Christ! He uses the worship leader to produce user-friendly worship that mirrors MTV. He uses the worship teams to produce worldly forms of entertainment not getting to the heart of worship! Right now, during the first part of the year he has pastors all over the country talking about health and nutrition--which is of itself a good thing, but not when it distracts from the rest of the gospel. We are so consumed with being "fit for the King" that we forget that first and foremost we need to be "fit for the Kingdom"!

Pastors and their wives look like Ken and Barbie, wear the latest Hollywood fashions, and produce a Church environment of many people. The congregations grow in number, but what about growing in their relationship with Jesus? Then they "fleece the flock" and bet them into giving up their tithe offering not from a spirit of giving, but a spirit of fear, intimidation or of obligation, or of "you cannot outgive God" If you give then God will give you!!!If you do this for God , then He will do this for you! We should do and give to God regardless of what we want or need! It all belongs to Him in the first place!

Roger, please take some time to read Jerry's lessons on Eternal Security. Salvation is not a one time deal, say a prayer go to heaven! It is a daily struggle. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling! Daily!

The doctrine of once saved always saved is the biggest lie the enemy has used to deceive the new testament church. It causes people to become lukewarm in their walks with the Lord, and allows pride and deception to creep in. A spoiled child has no responsiblility, and spends his life doing as he pleases with the belief that no matter what he does "daddy" will always be there to bail him out of trouble.

So also is the deceived christian that said a prayer once and then never did anything with his promise of salvation. If he turns back away from his first love, then death and destruction is awaiting him in a place reserved for the fallen angesl---HELL!!!!!

Wide is the path that leads to destruction (hell) and narrow is the gate that leads to eternal life (heaven) and only a few find it!

For on that day (of judgement) many will say Lord, Lord...Yes they will say Jesus is Lord because they said the sinner's prayer. They may have even been sincere at the time and actually did invite Jesus into their hearts. They may have been filled with the Holy Spirit which is the source of power to cast out demons, heal the sick, perform other signs and wonders, and prophesy in His name, but Jesus will say to them..."Depart from me, I never knew you"!

I never knew you means that you once had the power of the Holy Spirit in their life, but then turned away and started doing things on their own--much like the modern day new-testament churches in America. They have all their programs, and ministries, thier departments and missions all of which are good, but they try to do it all without the Holy Spirit! If the last bit of flickering flame of the Holy Spirit wouuld be removed from most churches today, all the programs would still continue--it would be business as usual for the most part.

Not all churches are this bad! Church is a good place to be! Do not misinterpret what I am saying here!

"But if a righteous person man turns from his righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked man does, will he live? None of the righteous things he has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness he is guilty of and because of the sins he has committed, he will die." Ezekiel 18:24

I know you might be saying now, But God will never leave me nor forsake me! And you my friend are right! He will not leave or forsake, but you might choose to leave or forsake Him--then inherit the consequences of your sin (disobedience). The wages of sin are death! In the physical and in the spiritual!

When people quote what the Lord has said in Deuteronomy 31:8 they are referring to the pep talk that God was giving Moses concerning Joshua taking the Israelites into the promised land. But read on a little further in Deuteronomy 31:15 "Then the Lord appeared at the tent in a pillar of cloud and the cloud stood over the entrance to the tent. And the Lord said to Moses, You are gooing to rest with your fathers, and these people will soon prostitute themselves to the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will forsake me and break the covenant I made with them. On that day I will become angry with them and forsake them; I wil hide my face from them and they will be destroyed. Many disasters and difficulties will come upon them and on that day they will ask Have not these disasters come upon us because our God is not with us? And I will certainly hide my face on that day because of all their wickedness in turning to other gods?''

And now you might say, but that is Old testament and we are living under a new covenant. True, but grace is more strict than the blood covenant of the old testament. In the old testament you had to commit the sin in order to be guilty. In the new testament all you have to do is think it and you are guilty. (another lesson)
