Statement from the Office of President Bill Clinton
New York - Doctors at Columbia Presbyterian say Former President Clinton will undergo surgery to remove fluid and scar tissue from his heart.
The procedure, which is a recognized, occasional consequence of open-heart surgery, will take place Thursday at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center and he will remain in the hospital for three to ten days.
The procedure is known as a decortication, and will require general anesthesia. The scar tissue developed as a result of fluid and inflammation causing compression and collapse of the lower lobe of the left lung. The surgery will be done either through a small incision or with a video-assisted thoracoscope inserted between ribs. <b>The fluid buildup and lung collapse</b> has caused the President some discomfort in recent weeks, but he has otherwise been in very good condition, recently passed a stress test and is walking up to four miles a day near his home in Chappaqua, NY.
The risk of the procedure is low, and once fully recovered, President Clinton is expected to resume his work without limitations.
The former president will check into a New York medical center this week. His office says the risk of the procedure is low, but Clinton will remain in the hospital three to ten days afterward.
Clinton has been quite active since the heart operation last September. He hosted last fall's opening of his presidential library in Little Rock, Arkansas. Most recently, he's been traveling as part of a campaign to help raise private funds for the victims of the south Asia tsunami.

Lord, big things are brewing, such awesome things! When Bill Clinton breaks his silence, when he comes forward and speaks for life (Terri Schiavo's) how awesome. The world will behold the change in him and wonder. Oh, Daddy,  , the world is doubting Your miracle working power, Your greatness.... "If He's all powerful," they say, "why doesn't He--" and they put in what You don't seem to be doing. Well, when Bill Clinton is transformed, then the world will know You are an all powerful God!!! Hallelujah!!! You have both Terri Schiavo and Bill Clinton in the eyes of the world, so Your Glory can be shown!!! WOW!!! These two items are in the news to keep everyone riveted on the two biggest miralces this world has ever seen! Besides, Paul the Apostle, no-one like him before or since is the legacy of William Jefferson Clinton. Then, there is Terri Schiavo. You have not allowed her to die; You have stepped through with a miracle every time. This story just became bigger and bigger in the news, getting ever more intense.... we are so close to seeing the BIGGEST miracle EVER!!! This young woman totally healed and restored and 100% delivered!!! And saved, so she can spend eternity with You!!! WOW!!! What exciting times to be alive!!!
I thought I was through praying! Was going to go to bed and seek You on the way to sleep. Oh, Lord, this is all stirring in me, stirring, stirring.... big things coming. You are about to come through in thundering glory! Oh, call Your people pray!!! Call them to stay in prayer, watching and waiting, always, never weary in well doing.
Come, QUICKLY, Lord, QUICKLY!!! We need breakthrough for Terri Schiavo and for Bill Clinton!!!

Father, I stand with JeriRose in her prayer. Lord, you anointing is upon it so powerfully. Lord, I praise you! I thank you for what you are doing in Bill Clinton's life. Lord, I call for the Miracle to come forth now. Lay not the appointment of liberal non-believing judges to him, but give him forgiveness. He knew not what he was doing. Lord, reverse the effects of his sin, and loose Your Power into this entire situation. Raise up President Clinton and Raise up Terri Schievo! Father, let all the World see your Power and your Might, and that it is not blinded by the lies of the enemy. Father, in the Name of Jesus we pray. AMEN Father, I ask that every time we think of Bill Clinton, that Your Holy Spirit in us will pray Your Mighty Will for him. Thank you Lord, for teaching us about trigger prayers. Father, make me an instrument of intercession.... a vessel through which Your Holy Spirit can flow. You are SO wanting to do this! You are ready to unveil this miracle! Dear Lord..... give me the words to pray. Meantime, I will pray in the Spirit.
Heal him. Heal him of every hurt incurred over the years. Make him whole, a vessel fit for Your honor and glory. Heal his body, yes, but heal him spiritually and emotionally. Heal his mind. Remove all tormenting thoughts of past sins. Let him know that he is a new creation in Christ, old things have passed away, all things have become new.... Wipe out all sin and let him KNOW it is gone!
Father, I lift him up to You now, for this miracle of forgivenss and newness of life. Let him move on past the past. Let him stand up and be the Determined Protector and the Resolute Defender that his name means. Jefferson, Son of Geoffry, means: Son of Peace Bringer. Let him be YOUR son and let peace come to the hearts of many who receive You after hearing his preaching.
Lord God, bring this to pass QUICKLY, as prophecied here. Call in the interecessors for the proper prayer covering that this may be so. In Jesus Name, amen.

Father God, so many prayers for Terri S. In this vigil for her life, fasting absolute fast.... Dear Lord, RAISE HER TO LIFE, this we pray!!!
Father, may every prayer for Terri be a prayer for Bill Clinton. We must pray for Terri; the time is vital. But You told us to increase the prayers for William Jefferson Clinton, too. So, Lord, we ask for triggers. Every time we pray for Terri, make it a prayer for Bill. Oh, Lord, raise both to their new lives!!! Yes, Lord, there is the link!!! Resurrection weekend for both! Make it so, Lord God, make it so!
Give Bill Clinton the courage to step into his destiny! Remove all fear and doubt. As he sees Your hand moving upon Terri's life, let him realize he must be Your hand extended to a world lost and dying. Oh, Lord, as he regards the miracle of natrual life that You return to Terri, let him rise to embrace the spiritual life You are now sending him.
Father God, teach me more about the triggers. Other things that will trigger a prayer for Bill Clinton! I have it! Every time a negative word is spoken about William Jefferson Clinton, let a BLESSING be said over him! Interceed for him, Lord, every time a curse is sent towards him. Let that curse find no rest! Cut if off and stop it in it's tracks! Do not let it reach him! Let it, rather run into a wall of intercession from You and Your prayer warriors.

Bother them, Lord! Stir them! Wake them! Shake and rattle some poeple out of their lethargy!!! We need them! You need them! William Jefferson Clinton needs them!
