Dear Lord, I pray that this bill is not approved. I pray that the govenor will say that he doesn't want this promoted as a "normal" lifestyle. Why should they single out homosexuals for such attention, when they ignore other minority groups? This has become such a "politically correct" band wagon to hop on. ane we know the devil is behind it, in his attempt to destroy America. Restore America to the principles that made it great. Let sin once again be called sin, and let righteousness be the rule of the day. There was a time you had to be a Christian to even serve in public office in this country. How far we have come! Father, bring this nation back to the Christian beliefs it was founded on. Protect children from this kind of recruitment by the homosexual community trying to brainwash them into thinking this is normal, so they will explore this kind of lifestyle. ....SB 1437 reads in part, "No textbook or other instructional materials shall be adopted by the state board or by any governing board for use in the public schools that contains any matter reflecting adversely upon persons because of their race or ethnicity, gender, disability, nationality, sexual orientation, or religion." The bill also requires all social studies textbooks to "study the role and contributions of...people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender...with particular emphasis on portraying the role of these groups in contemporary society." The conservative Campaign for Children and Families testified against the "transsexual-bisexual-homosexual curriculum bill," calling it "sexual indoctrination." CCF President Randy Thomasson is urging Americans to "loudly protest at every opportunity," and he is urging Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to announce that such bills will be vetoed when they reach his desk. "Use today's bad news to spur you to righteousness," Thomasson said in a press release. According to Thomasson, the bill authorizes the California Department of Education to sue any school district that does not promote or positively portray transsexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality in textbooks, instructional materials, and school-sponsored activities. "SB 1437 turns every school into a sexual indoctrination center," he said. "This bill isn't about 'safety' or 'discrimination,' it's about leading children into sexual confusion." Thomasson has accused Democrats of "mentally molesting" impressionable children. "Parents send their children to school for academics, not for transsexual, bisexual, or homosexual indoctrination. SB 1437 means schools will promote same-sex 'marriages' and even sex-change operations to kids. "The voters won't stand for this," Thomasson said.

....The pro-gay social justice arguments assume (without proof) that gays are victims, and that the conservative church is largely responsible for their victimhood. These arguments are most effective in secular discussions (talk shows, interviews, university debates) where listeners are unlikely to judge them by Biblical standards. Instead of discerning which side is theologically correct, non-Christian audiences tend to side with whomever seems “nicest.” Usually, that means the gay spokesman asking for anti-discrimination laws or support clubs for gay teenagers. The person against these things – usually a conservative Christian – does not seem “nice,” no matter how nice he or she may truly be. That is not to say pro-gay social justice arguments are unwinnable; answered properly and politely, non-Biblical ideas can be challenged in the secular arena. Paul proved that with the citizens at Mars Hill (Acts 17:22). But the challenger needs to be aware that often, because of his position, he will be seen as the “bad guy.” This is all the more reason to speak with an equal measure of clarity and politeness....We can accept some parts of...pro-gay arguments. We can agree that, in many cases, the homosexual condition -- sexual attractions to the same sex rather than the opposite one -- begins very early in life. And while it's common knowledge that 10 percent of the population is not, nor ever has been, gay, we'll admit there are probably far more homosexuals in the population than we're aware of. Their claim of not having asked for their orientation is, in most cases, true; we ought to feel genuine compassion for people struggling with, or mistreated for, something they never chose. Stanton Jones of Wheaton College puts it well: “If you cannot empathize with a homosexual person because of fear of, or revulsion to, them, then you are failing our Lord.” But where we must part company with promoters of the pro-gay theology is in the conclusions they've drawn. We cannot rewrite Scripture ... to accommodate a sin....

Why does Repent America focus so much attention on homosexuality? (EXCERPT)
We focus on homosexuality for two reasons; First, because the Bible focuses on homosexuality. God has put clear prohibitions against this behavior in both Old (Gen. 18, 19, Lev.18:22) and New Testament (Rom.1:26-27, I Cor. 6:9-11). Secondly, RA gives special emphasis to homosexuality because our society gives special emphasis to homosexuality. It is a lifestyle associated with a massive political lobby and propaganda campaign. We believe it to be our duty to respond with love and truth to those areas where the devil is most diligently attacking....Attempts to normalize homosexuality, as well as efforts to suppress any dissenting voice, are fronts where the devil is certainly attacking with much fury and might. This is cause for Christians to be concerned and to be involved.
Shouldn’t Christians be tolerant and accepting?
Christians should be kind, patient, willing to forgive and gracious. This does not mean wholesale acceptance and toleration of any behavior....We preach boldly and diligently because we care about homosexuals and want to see them set free from sin and to love and serve God....The Bible says that we are born fallen creatures, separated from God with many propensities for sin. This is why Jesus said a man must be born again, with a new nature, which is created in righteousness and true holiness. If we will humble ourselves and ask the Lord Jesus to cleanse us of our sin, putting our life in His hands, this will become a reality in our life.

I think as long as I hold on to my anger, it doesn't give a lot of room for growth....To bless means to ask God to interfere in one's life....I'm going to ask God to interfere in your life....I so want people...to be able to live a growth-full life with God -- regardless of their circumstances. So if they will receive from God -- if they will let God interfere in their life and release his power to change their character and destiny -- then they can bless others and not interfere themselves but ask God to interfere. That totally freed me up from trying to figure out what to do in somebody else's life to get them "better." Just bless them and ask God, "God would you go interfere in their life?" Then I'm free to grow in my life.... I had to be blessed in order to give a blessing. The growth has to take place in me. That is all I'm responsible for. Would I love to have it some other way? Sure. I'm such a connector I'd love to have every family be perfect, happy, in love....Relationships with family are the hardest things....It has to be the work of the Spirit. The blessing is not about me trying to get somebody else to change. The blessing is about asking God to release his power to change their character and destiny.... I can't say that I'm free from the judgment or condemnation....But God has worked in my heart. I'll see someone and say something like, "What bad taste." But now I'll ask the Holy Spirit to discipline me and train me. Interfere in my life, take action in my life. So that I don't go to that critical spirit.

Several weeks ago, Stephen Bennett traveled to the Chicago area to speak at a local public high school and a public library in the evening - part of the nationwide Alliance Defense Fund's Day of Truth. The events were crowded with a police presence at both.

Stephen Bennett, president of SBM, shared his testimony leaving the homosexual lifestyle back in 1992 with the public high school students. Over 150+ students and teachers listened to Bennett at the high school, where he was met with much 'respectful' opposition. In the evening, 25 or so 'gay' activist students returned to the library to hear more along with the numerous other adults from around the community.
