Overwhelmed and downtrodden

Pray that Jason not lose his motivation and his joy. He is feeling downtroddened and overwhelmed. Though a soldier, deployed in Iraq, his classes and his responsibilities to his children continue. He is very discouraged right now. Pray for him.

...The joy of the LORD is your strength.
Nehemiah 8:10 KJV

Dear God, especially at this Independence Day, my thoughts are for those who are serving in my stead in the hotspots of the world. I am most grateful to them and their families from whom they are separated.
Particularly now I join Nessa in praying for Jason and his family. O Lord, please be near to them and help in all problems presented them in this situation. May they each know You in a very real and near way, and may they know their sacrifices are recognized and appreciated. I pray their spiritual, emotional, and physical needs can be met.
Please bless all our servicemembers in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other parts of the world. I pray more and more of them can know Jesus as Savior. As they serve together, be with Christian chaplains and all Christians in the military in leading many to salvation.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.

....Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet, Lest we forget, lest we forget!....
Rudyard Kipling, 1897

President Bush enjoyed a jog on the South Lawn track with Sgt. Christian Bagge, a devout Christian who had both legs amputated after an IED exploded near him while on patrol in Iraq last year. (It all started in January 2006 with a presidential visit to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, a unique rehabilitation hospital for amputees. While meeting the troops President Bush greeted 23-year-old Christian Bagge, a double amputee from Oregon. Bagge was still learning to use his new prostheses when he met the President. After the customary greeting, Bagge told the President he wanted to run with him. Even though the President has had to give up jogging for mountain biking due to a bad knee, he agreed to make an exception for Bagge, believing that he would be an inspiration to other amputees....)

Pray for all our veterans who are recovering from life-changing injuries and pray for the President as he continues to travel and meet with veterans, seeking to express the gratitude of the nation.....
Pray for the President as he celebrates Independence Day with troops at Ft. Bragg, NC
and returns to the White House for another celebration and fireworks...
As our nation celebrates Independence Day, pray that all Americans will offer thanks to God for the blessings of our freedom....
As President Bush and Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld have now met with Gen. Casey, commander of operations in Iraq, pray for these leaders and others as they discern how best to manage the eventual withdrawal of our troops. As our nation debates the issue of troop withdrawal and many voices clamor to be heard, pray that our leaders will make the very best decision to protect our troops and ensure security and the continued growth of Iraq. Pray for complete victory in Iraq, for the continued strengthening of the Iraqi government, security forces and infrastructure....
As the Senate has failed to pass a flag desecration amendment to be ratified by states, pray that all Americans will honor our flag and in so doing will honor those who sacrifice for our freedom. Pray that there will be a great upsurge of honor and reverence for our flag and our nation during this July 4th weekend.
Pray also for safety for all Americans as they travel and celebrate this wonderful holiday....
Pray for our troops as they work to strengthen and advance freedom and democracy in the world, asking God to protect and preserve each one. Pray that each will know the gratitude of our nation and other countries of the world they work to assist. Pray that the insurgency in Iraq will subside.

Lord God, touch this one who defends our freedoms. I pray that he will be ministered by You in a special way. Show him Your Glory and Presence over their in Iraq. I pray he will have beautiful experineces with You. Let his love for You increase and grow deeper. I pray that his relationship with You is a constant source of joy and filling. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit that all the fruits of the Spirit, including JOY may be his. I ask and pray these things, in Jesus Name, amen.
