Unanswered prayer
The first place we must start with unanswered prayer is ourselves.
Then we look to see what satan is doing.
"if my people...you must be a child of God by Jesus
which are called.....You must be called by God
by My Name.....you must come in the Only Name that can answer
will humble themselves ......you must be humble, reverent
and pray......you have not because you ask not
and turn from their wicked way.....you must turn from yourself, flesh, emotions, satan to God
then will I hear then will I heal"
Isaiah 59:1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 59:2 But your iniquities (sins) have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear.
Matthew 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
I Timothy 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
Isaiah 1:15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. 1:16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
Matthew 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
I Peter 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
I Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume [it] upon your lusts.
Deuteronomy 18:10 There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 18:12 For all that do these things [are] an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. 18:13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. God will not hear disobedience
James 5:16 Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Greed
Psalms 34:15 The eyes of the LORD [are] upon the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their cry.
James 5:16 Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Are we righteous
Are we humbling ourselves before God
Matthew 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: A defiant Heart
Our sinful nature does not stop God from answering our prayers.
Unconfessed sin will.

Every christian sins, not sinning is impossible, this would mean that every christian has to confess every little sin before he prays otherwise God will not hear him. Tell me, how do you handle this ? Do you carry a filofax or do you write down all your sins on post-it notes in order to confess them before you ask for something ? I am just curious.

Oh my friend Frederik:
In my daily time with God I give him permission to search my heart.
He is so kind and faithful to show me how to get closer to Him
Some days He shows me specific sins.
Some days He shows me general sins.
Some days He shows me feelings that hurt Him.
It is always a joy to watch him forgive the sin and wash it as white as snow, never to be remembered again
Than after a time my spirit grows so strong that sin has no place or stronghold on me any more.
PSA 26:2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart. 26:3 For thy lovingkindness [is] before mine eyes: ...
PSA 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 139:24 And see if [there be any] wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
PSA 44:20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god; 44:21 Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
JER 17:10 I the LORD search the heart, [I] try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, [and] according to the fruit of his doings.
PSA 77:2
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord:
my sore ran in the night, and ceased not:
my soul refused to be comforted. 77:3
I remembered God, and was troubled:
I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah. 77:4
Thou holdest mine eyes waking:
I am so troubled that I cannot speak. 77:5
I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times. 77:6
I call to remembrance my song in the night:
I commune with mine own heart:
and my spirit made diligent search. 77:7
Will the Lord cast off for ever? and
will he be favourable no more? 77:8
Is his mercy clean gone for ever?
doth [his] promise fail for evermore? 77:9
Hath God forgotten to be gracious?
hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah. 77:10
And I said, This [is] my infirmity:
[but I will remember] the years of the right hand of the most High. 77:11
I will remember the works of the LORD: surely
I will remember thy wonders of old. 77:12
I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings. 77:13
Thy way, O God, [is] in the sanctuary:
who [is so] great a God as [our] God?
ECC 1:13 And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all [things] that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.

But supposing God shows you some sins which you did in the past then this would mean that because you haven't confessed them God cannot even hear you. This is a vicious circle. How can God say to you "This is a sin you did 3 weeks ago" when he doesn't even talk to you cause you have this sin standing between him and you?

If God shows you sin then confess it.
It is that simple.
Our flesh will always find an excuse but our spirit desires to be with Jesus

Of course, if God shows me a sin then I would be a fool not to confess it, but what about the sins which I don't know of? Do they count or not?
