God used me for the anointing that day Articles / Testimony Letters Date: May 29, 2002 - 08:33 PM Who would have thought that a Presbyterian Church (although open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit), would begin their 10:00 am service Dear Brother Gaffney, My name is Judy from Black Diamond Presbyterian Church in Black Diamond, Washington. I want to share with you what God has done in our church and also in my life. The most dramatic of events have occured during the revival meetings you were part of at Covington Christian Center. My own personal belief is that these and a few other timely events of the Holy Spirit demonstrating power and a new outpouring, were very related to each other. I believe these sovereign works of God are confirmation of each other and a mighty witness to the community. Who would have thought that a Presbyterian Church (although open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit), would begin their 10:00 am service under a cloud of grief for a tragic death in the church family, and quite frankly some strife in the body, only to watch in amazement as 15 people fell under the power of the Holy Spirit? I will tell you very humbly and with awe that God used me for the anointing that day. About a year ago a man came to our church and gave a prophetic message. He prayed over our Pastor, Peter and me. At that time I received an anointing on my hands for healing. It has been a quiet ministry, but God has undoubtedly brought healing to several in our church through this anointing. I have been trying to figure out just what God wanted me to do with this gift which comes with a manifestation of very pronounced tingling on my hands. On Thursday March 21, 1996 I was at a board meeting. One of the brothers was suffering terribly from Multiple Sclerosis. We decided to pray. Instead we went on with a very painful meeting with some criticism coming my way regarding the fact that I was a woman and should not serve in leadership. At the end of the meeting one brother reminded us to pray for the one in pain. I said I couldn't and even stated that I no longer had the anointing but would agree with the prayer of faith. As prayer began, I sensed a surge of the Holy Spirit Power. We asked the brother with MS to stand and I began to pray. I then touched his head and said, "Receive your healing from the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus, NOW!" He immediately fell under the power and we really were not sure if he was still alive. He was, Glory to God. The next Sunday Pastor Peter, called for a time of prayer. I went forward to pray for folks as usual. The first woman went down under the power and they then started going like dominoes. I was so amazed. The last person to come for prayer was 6'8" tall and about 300 pounds. He was sobbing and I couldn't get the attention of any of the men for catching. I finally took my attention off this grieving young man and asked for help. As soon as I began praying he went down into the arms of four men. When he finally got up he was filled with Holy Joy. Brother Jerry, all of this happened while you were here. I had so many questions and was very concerned with staying right with God and not making mistakes that could bring harm to others. My pastor and his wife, insisted I sit under your teaching. I went to all sessions the rest of the week and received the anointing for ministry. I could never thank you enough for the wisdom and teaching you've been willing to share so more could be conformed to the image of Christ. Many have gone before you and built their own kingdoms on what belongs to God. I thank God for your integrity and pray for your ongoing transfer of the anointing.
