He would take his cigarette and burn holes in his hands Both hands were swollen from the self- inflicted wounds. He looked up to heaven. "Oh, what's the use," he thought. "No one really cares. Well, if there is a God, will You heal my hands, so I know someone cares?" Then it happened. The event that would change his life forever. Dear Friends, He was standing on a street corner. He looked like any normal 16 year old teenage young man, smoking a cigarette. He was thin, unkempt and had that lonely, lost look only a parent could understand. The wind was blowing off the Skagit River through town, and he only had a tee- shirt on for the brisk 55 degrees outside. No one was around him, no activity of friends or family. He was just standing there leaning against the building. Thoughts of death and suicide haunted him. The pain he felt inside would not go away. He would take his cigarette and burn holes in his hands just to see if he had any feelings left. Both hands were swollen from the self- inflicted wounds. He looked up to heaven. "Oh, what's the use," he thought. "No one really cares. Well, if there is a God, will You heal my hands, so I know someone cares?" Then it happened. The event that would change his life forever. Another young man who had been in some of our meetings for almost three weeks saw him. He was filled with the wonder and awe of the Lord. To him nothing was impossible and nothing was too hard for his Lord. What was this joy in his heart? What was this feeling of excitement in the air? He knew he was on a "God mission". He just had to share this joy he felt inside. When he looked up, he saw the young man standing there. He saw his hands, and his heart broke, because he knew how he felt. It was not the holes in his hands he saw that made him hurt for his new-found friend, it was the hole in his heart. And he knew the answer. "Oh, you just have to come with me", he said. "I know a place that has the answers you are looking for." He led him up the block to the church, where he knew some would still be after the morning meeting. They would be singing and praying for the evening services. With great joy and excitement, he told this young man about the love of Jesus Christ. He then prayed for his hands. One hole was so bad he had been to the hospital many times for it, because it would not heal. As they were approaching the church, the young man noticed something strange happening to him. The feeling of death and hurt was not there. The pain in his hands had subsided. Then it happened right in front of their eyes. The holes and burn marks started to disappear. They ran inside the church and found one of the ministers there, then another and another. One was a minister from Canada. The other was an Assembly of God minister from Washington. As they all gathered around the boy, held out his hands and Jesus took the holes away. Right in front of their eyes, they saw the holes disappear. The young man had burned his hands in the same place he thought Jesus had holes in his hands. A holy hush hit those who saw this miracle. They realized the wonder of Isaiah 53, when it said Jesus took our infirmities. For they saw our Lord take them one more time. What a wonderful God we serve! The young man came to the meeting that night. He did not have the look of death on him anymore, for he had another miracle also. He gave his heart to a wonderful Savior Who heard his prayer. It was the last service at Mt. Vernon. Oh, what a wonderful time of testimony we had. I love my Lord. It is so exciting to see Him use these young people in such a special way. I have so much more to tell you: about the attorney, three pastors and two nurses praising the Lord. Some of them did not know they were speaking Swedish until a girl came over and starting speaking to them in Swedish.. They all spoke for over one half hour. The young girl had to tell them what the Lord was saying. About the healings of cancer, backs and ears, and tumors disappearing. About the salvations and the changed lives.
