Dear Friends and Neighbors, February 19, 2002 We want to take this opportunity to make you aware of something wonderful that has been happening over the past few months. Last November, Christians from all denominational backgrounds began meeting together at Dumas Christian Center to pray for revival. Nobody planned for this to happen-people just started showing up from a five-state area with a common vision to call out to God on behalf of those who lived in the Panhandle. Night after night they have been coming, six days a week, with a hunger to see the Lord do something in our communities. One afternoon in December, over 90 pastors and ministers gathered at a special luncheon for the cause of revival. People are certainly coming together in unity as never before, and it is having an impact in the area. One of the things that has developed from these meetings has been what we have called "The Gathering" on Friday nights. This is an opportunity once a week for everyone from the different churches, cities, and states to come together in an expression of unity to worship and pray for revival. This past Friday, over thirty pastors and their spouses met prior to the service to form relationships and pray with one another. Later during the meeting, .)
As things developed over the past nine weeks, we knew that God was directing us to move the Friday night services to the different churches and cities in the area who have been coming together each week. Therefore, we would like to announce that on Friday, February 22, the Central United Methodist Church in Dalhart will be hosting the regional "Gathering" at 7:00 P.M. We invite you to join with us for this very special time of worship and prayer and know that God has something wonderful in store for you as he has had for the hundreds of people who have come already.
