diagnosed with scoliosis, I PUT MY TRUST AND FAITH IN THE LORD AND HE HAD HEALED ME Articles / Testimony Letters Date: May 28, 2002 - 01:31 AM I had always heard stories and testimonies of healing but never thought I would ever really need it or then even get it. BUT I DID! I am writing this letter to share my testimony of healing. I became a Christian 5 years ago after meeting my husband..His family were all Christians and had been with the Assembly of God Church in Forks, since the beginning. They immediatly took me in as family and helped show me the way to the Lord. I will never forget the day I was saved, and the joy I felt knowing that my slate had been wiped clean to start fresh and new. I have been attending church here for five years now, have a wonderful family and God has been so good to me! I had always heard stories and testimonies of healing but never thought I would ever really need it or then even get it, BUT I DID! I had beeen experiencing lower back pain for about a month. I decided I would go to a chiropractor, since that seemed like what everybody did. I went and each time my back did not feel better. In fact it hurt worse. After the second visit which was a Friday it was extremely sore and finally Sunday morning as I was getting my family ready for church, it went out completely. I could barely walk. The pain was intense in any position. I don't know how but I made it to church. I had heard that "that guy from Port Angeles" was going to be there and that I should get prayed for by him. So I did. You told me about a woman who had been in a car wreck and broke her back and how she kept coming up for prayer for 5 weeks and she was healed. I thought "Well this isn't that bad, I wasn't in a car wreck, my back is just out". I WAS SO SCARED TO BE UP THERE IN FRONT OF MY CONGREGATION. This was your first day there and not everyone knew what God was doing through you. I sure didn't. Well you knew I was scared, and you prayed for me, and I fell under the Spirit, and fell to the floor. I laid there for a while, praising God and truly overwhelmed by the whole thing. I thought maybe my back would be healed instantly, that I would stand up and feel no pain, and dance around! Well, I didn't! I did feel intense pain go away though. It still hurt, but not as bad. Oh, well I thought, I just didn't believe enough. But it was worth a try. The next week I went to a medical doctor who examined my back and DIAGNOSED ME WITH SCOLIOSIS, which is a "S" shaped curve in the spine. It had thrown my hips out of alignment and made my back hurt. He put me on some heavy medications and bed rest for 3 days. HE EVEN MENTIONED SURGERY! I was really scared. After my bed rest, I did feel a little better, but it still hurt. I wanted to go to church and I just felt like I needed to have more faith and keep getting prayed for. I went up on Monday night and again on Tuesday night. The Lord told me to just believe, just believe! Each night I felt better, and my back felt stronger. On Wednesday I had a doctor appointment. The same doctor rechecked my back. He was running his fingers along my spine and he was amazed that MY SPINE WAS NO LONGER CURVED! IT WAS PERFECTLY STRAIGHT! He kept saying, "I don't understand, I've never seen anything like this." I was just laughing, so excited that I knew that I, LITTLE ME, HAD BEEN HEALED BY THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. I HAD PUT MY TRUST AND FAITH IN THE LORD AND HE HAD HEALED ME!!! I really feel the Lord healed me to prove his faith to me. And to also show how little faith I had in him. I don't "walk the talk" I told other people about all the wonderful things God could do for them, but my faith wasn't what it could be. God wanted me to "press in", to draw closer and truly believe, and when I did he gave me a wonderful blessing. The healing of my back. I praise God for my healing, and I thank him for teaching me to keep pressing in and never loose my faith. God bless you, and your ministry, Jerry. God is doing such wonderful things.
