CEM Ministry Update april,2003 Articles / In The News Date: May 02, 2003 - 12:37 PM Greetings in the name of our Risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We praise God for the showers of God’s blessings upon CEM ministry efforts in Andhra Pradesh and thank God for His wonderful provisions and protection towards our ministries. We are grateful for your love, encouragement, prayers and support. We write this special letter requesting your prayers. I would like to give a brief report on ministry of the CEM in this quarter of 2003. God blessed my trip to US in the beginning of this year with blessed fellowship with our partners and supporters of CEM ministry. Missionary Training School: MTS program is a vital to fulfill CEM vision. MTS students started every day night out reach ministry program from January 1st, 2003 apart from Saturdays out-reach ministry. They used to conduct street prayer meeting on each day at various villages. They use to share their testimonies and love of Christ with people. In this way they conducted 150 prayer meetings in 15 villages in this quarter and reached about 10,000(ten thousand people) with gospel. Most of them are never heard the complete gospel and they heard the gospel first time in their lives and showed interest to hear more about Jesus. Since these are Hindus, they have some problems to confess Jesus publicly. Many are following Jesus secretly and inviting us to visit their homes to share the love of God and Bible. Please pray that God may help them to overcome their cultural and religious obstacles to confess Jesus openly and to attend the church to worship Jesus with believers. God helped us to start 18 house churches (small groups) in this quarter. Please pray that for the growth of these house churches and they may turn into public churches in the future as well as gospel spreading centers. MTS students have gone to homes on summer vacation on 26th of April. They are given task to win minimum 10 souls in these summer holidays in their respective villages and in their communities. This year about 25 MTS students will be graduating and 15 of them are involving in church planting ministry. We are praying to support these MTS graduates for 5 to 10 years to become self-supported church establishing. Grace Children’s Home: The orphan children in GCH are doing well by the grace of God and with prayers of their supporters. They have completed their final exams a week back and promoted to higher classes. Now they are enjoying summer holidays. We are planing to conduct special VBS program for the children through GCH. Couple of girls in the orphanage got marriages through their relations in the last week. Please pray that God’s presence be with them to the rest of their lives, wherever they live. Church Ministry: God is prospering the evangelistic efforts of the churches and pastors. We are encouraging the believers to live a holy and godly life in front of the unbelievers. We believe that our actions speak more loudly than our words. In village churches we give importance to conduct fasting prayer meetings and special prayer meetings in night timings so that people may attend these prayer meetings to be prayed for the divine help of Godly power to work in their lives. Many people are experiencing the dynamic power of Jesus in their lives so the result is that they begin trusting Jesus rather than other idols and other Hindu gods. Please pray that God may help these people to renounce their old faiths in order to become members of the body of Christ. With God’s help we baptized 236 people in this quarter. We are planning to conduct more baptism services but we are facing a bit trouble with Hindu militant and elders due to the Hindu festival season. In the last week of July and the first week of August of this year 20 millions people will come to river Godavari to take holy bath from various districts and parts of Andhra Pradesh and other states of India. We are prayerfully planning to reach out as much as we can in the name of Jesus irrespective of tribulation and oppositions from Hindus. We made a goal to baptize 2000 people in the forth coming festival season. Please pray that God may help us to accomplish this with His divine help. Evangelism with Medical Clinic: We praise God for the opportunity to serve the poorest of the poor with Christ-like compassion in their sickness and poverty with medical care. In this quarter 7500 people got medical care through Free Medical Clinic of CEM. We appointed couple of people to pray for the patients and to witness Jesus and His salvation. Every patient is cared and talked gospel with prayer. This gives us tremendous opportunities to knock out the new doors for gospel. People are coming to this clinic from 10 miles distance to get the medical care. We also praise God for the opportunity to conduct a three-day medical camp at CEM campus with help of KCC medical mission team in the month of February. Over 1000 people got medical care in three days with tireless efforts and services of KCC mission team for which we are thankful to them. We also conducted gospel meetings on the evenings simultaneously to share the gospel and to present Christ is the only savior. Craig Mayes, Nick Boring has preached the word of God apart from their assistance in the medical clinic and teaching in MTS program. God did wonderful things and moved in these meetings and clinics. I like to share a couple of testimonies, which occurred during these medical camp and night gospel meetings: Testimonies: A poor woman came to this clinic with high blood pressure with terrible weakness and doctors assumed that she got heart attack and we gave IV and the whole team prayed for divine healing to save her life. God heard our prayers and raised her from unconsciousness. Now she is doing well and healthy, believed Jesus and attending church. The third night gospel meeting one child was brought to Craig Mayes for prayers. This child was very weak from the birth, no growth physically, no sounds from the mouth (dumbness) and his physique is only skin to the bones and about die. The parents tried many doctors and hospitals and there was no use. Moreover doctors told them that their son would die in a couple of days. While they are coming from the hospital with terrible grief and tears, they heard about the medical camps and gospel meetings that were going on the CEM property. They wanted to try this opportunity, so that they came to this night meeting and heard the God’s word from Craig Mayes, and they brought this child to Craig for prayer at the end of prayers. Craig took this child in to his hands and prayed for the divine healing power of Jesus to raise this child. And next day they came to the medical clinic and the doctors gave very simple medicines like vitamins and iron tablets. The child did not die as doctors foretold. After a week they again came to the medical clinic and our resident doctor Miss. Suneetha also gave the same simple medicines. Now the boy gained weight and very healthy and talking few words and understanding the parent’s communication. We praise God and believe that this is the totally a miracle from God. The parents also believe that Jesus raised this boy from the dead and thus made them to believe Jesus and they are coming to church every Sunday and testifying this wonderful story. Another testimony is that a police- man got injury with rat bite. And the wound developed very much and become chronic septic and doctors told him to cut off his leg. He was terribly disturbed and frustrated by hearing this sad news from the doctors, and he heard about the gospel meetings going on the CEM campus. He attended the gospel meeting and was prayed by Craig Mayes at the end of meeting. After that he came to the medical clinic and was given simple medicine like some antibiotic and vitamin tablets. He got healed and the wound was cured and he believed Jesus did this miracle in his life and thus he became follower of Jesus and attending the church on every Sunday. We have numerous testimonies with us what God has done and doing through medical ministry and KCC mission team ministry with us. After the team departure, people come to us and sharing their stories and opening up their homes for prayers and to hear the gospel. We praise God and His works proves that Jesus is alive today. Church Mobilization and Network: We conducted two pastors’ conference in this quarter. We encouraged about 300 pastors in ministry and to motivate to take active part in the forth-coming festival evangelistic out reach program that will be held in the last week of July and August. Most of them are caught up with the vision and interested to work with us in this great ministry. We will be having another pastor’s conference on 7th May 2003 to pray and finalize the strategies to reach out multitude of Hindus on this festival occasion. We need funds to print the gospel tracts and to cover the food expenses of the people who are involved in this ministry project. Please pray that God may help us in this project according to His will. CEM Campus constructions: By the grace of God and with charitable help of KCC the building constructions work is going on well. We are praying and planning to complete these buildings this year. We are in need of $25000 (twenty five thousand) to finish up the buildings. Please pray so that God may open up the doors to release this money to finish the buildings for His glory and for the effective ministry of CEM. Jaya English Medium School: The children of Jaya School did well in their exams. We have had a school anniversary on 25th of April evening. Children have presented some cultural programs, which reflects Christian love and faith. We gave some gifts to the children who won in the competitions that conducted on the account of school day. The Hindu parents attended this celebration and they appreciated the CEM ministries and our special care towards children education with Christian discipline. All the children in the school have been promoted into higher classes and they got good marks comparing with other Hindu schools. We expect more people would join children in JEMS in this academic year that starts from June 4th. JEMS is one of the means to create bridge to reach Hindus and also to impart Christian faith to the children with practical life. CEM Day Celebration: We have separated April 25th as CEM celebration day for prayer and fellowship between all the units of CEM. Each unit leader presented the report how the program is going on and the results that occurred in the year. MTS, STS, GCH, CMC (Christian medical clinic), the church and JEMS together presented in this celebration day to give thanks and praise His name for His faithfulness and protection. Also we specially prayed for the welfare of our supporters of the ministry for their compassion and kind support. We have started another program on this day to help to the aged. Most of the aged people lives are very pathetic and deplorable because their families neglect them. We are led by God to support $5 for month to help them. God gave vision to my daughter Jaya Devi to help the aged people to care them in their poverty and miserable situation. She has a tender heart and compassion towards these neglected aged people. By supporting these aged people, we may win them for Christ and use them to witness Jesus love to others. This will give wonderful results in the future to reach more unreached people in various communities. On CEM day night meeting we supported 25 aged people through Jaya Devi. Please pray for her vision to reach out old people for Christ through them she wants to reach many families strategically in the days to come.
