We hold these truths to be self- evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain un- alienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. -- That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, -- Because the FCC has also identified protection of the home against intrusion by offensive broadcasts'' as a compelling government interest. Because the Supreme Court has noted, ....affording broadcast media more limited First Amendment protections as compared to other forms of communications is proper. FCC v. Because the Supreme Court has approved regulation of broadcast indecency to further the compelling government interests in supporting parental supervision of children and more generally its concern for children's well being. The pro- hibition is set forth at Title 18 United States Code, Section 1464 (18 U.S.C. § 1464). Congress has given the FCC the responsibility for administratively enforcing 18 U.S.C. § 1464. In doing so, the FCC may issue a warning, impose a monetary forfeiture or revoke a station license for the broadcast of obscene or indecent material Because CBS, MTV, the NFL and Janet Jackson chose of their own free will to violate all the standards of day time safe habor decency. And because they have been on television and have said nothing will happen. Because their reporters have said you are afraid to protect the public. Even though they have said they were sorry that does not pay for the damage already done. We the undersigned ask you to do your job and to place CBS on some kind of probation. Where they may lose the ability to hurt the public that way again. They have lost our trust and have shown no remorse. Ms. Jackson's fine should be equal to and above any monies she did or will profit from such an act. Each station that aired the program should be fined at least $20,000. The NFL should be fined the profits of the program. Please gentlemen have the courage to stand up and fight for what is right. Almost no one believes you will do anything. Please Mr. President stop this slime today. Because if you do not it will be the crack in the dam that cannot be stopped.
