Dear Jerry, I want to thank you for being sensitive to what God wants to do and say to His people. I'm eighteen years old and have been saved for about four years. I came to a point in my walk where "I" was tired of "trying" to serve God the best I could. Striving daily to come close to God by my own strength, I ended up tired, lonely, and all dried out. I was at the point of giving up. For about two weeks I struggled with the thought of what life would be without Jesus. I went back home to California with my old friends for a while and saw all the fun they seemed to be having while I was stuck with a dried up life in Jesus. So I came back to Washington with a constant war going on in my heart. At this time in my life I wasn't feeling the Holy Spirit and all the gifts, the joy He really had for me. So the worldly life was looking pretty good. Tired of fighting I came flat out and told God I was giving up and if He wanted me He'd have to get me. I wasn't going to pray, read the Bible for scripture that would give me relief -- Nothing! So I came to one of the meetings. I didn't sing, or get excited about all the work that Jesus was doing. I just sat, listened, and reminded God that He was going to have to be the one to bring me back to Him. At the end of the meeting you walked up to me and the Lord revealed to you exactly what was going on in my life. You did "THE GOD THING" and prayed with me. Being a person who doesn't cry very often, the tears just started to flow as Jesus started working with me. Continuing to come, the Holy Spirit began to move mightily! God had to show me that I can't do anything by "my own strength" but only by "His strength." Feeling totally renewed and refreshed I am learning to jump into the rivers, and drink of the Holy Spirit. (Maybe even splashing some on other people.) Since the beginning of the meetings God has been at work with my whole family. Out of thirteen of us that came (most thinking this is all too weird for them) TWELVE OF US FELL OUT IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, ONE GOT SAVED, THREE OF US WHO HAD NEVER SPOKEN IN TONGUES DO NOW, but one of the most miraculous things Jesus did was HEAL MY AUNT OF A LIVER DISEASE SHE WOULD HAVE EVENTUALLY DIED FROM. I give God all the glory, honor, power, and praise and thank Him for having patience to deal with us even when I don't have the patience to deal with Him.
